I switched to an iron spatha +1 instead from an iron dagger when I hit GLA31, and it seems to degrade at a MUCH slower rate--granted, I know HQ items had more max wear when we were under that system, but even accounting for that, it seems to last longer. I've gone from 400/45000 to 32000/45000 and I've only repaired twice--and the first time when it was at 71%.

To be fair, though, all of that was behest and leves--I haven't solo'd any of it.

yeah I definetly refuse to repair silver items for less than 1k each, I could be doing much better things with my nuggets. When I seek repairs I always offer at least 1k, and then offer more depending on the rank of the material required. so like 2k for canvas, 5k for velveteen.

I haven't even had anyone repair any of my stuff, but considering the amount of gil that's thrown at you in this game I'd never consider offering any less than 5k, most likely more.

You're right, many don't. But I'll still pay what I feel is at least fair, because I like those people that level the shit I don't want to.

I'm going to copy and paste my response from Alla's thread about this:

I put my things up for about an average of 5-15k each. I do it on a three point scale to determine this.

1) How high must the player be to fix my item? (Compensation for time spent ranking the class)

2) How expensive is the repair item? (Compensation for cost of the material)

3) Do I want it repaired in ten minutes or overnight in the Mender's Ward?

So for my Dodoskin Jerkin, I'll put up 7k. Voyager belt is 10k. Sphene ring, 8k. And then just add 5k if I want it repaired right away. Sometimes I'll offer a good item like gold sand, mythril ore, or a stack of iron/limonite; but that's very rare. Once I start getting above rank 45, I don't doubt that I will be offering 15k for a single repair.
