Bit late but Five Guys is pretty overrated. Burger was good, but I feel like you can get a burger as good, maybe better, from In-N-Out. Better price there too... If only In-N-Out would open stores down here. ;(

See, since you don't have a local In-N-Out your tastes are skewed since you are yearning for something you don't have. Most states had 5 guys before TX got them in recent years, so obviously you wouldn't know a good if it punched you in the face.

Good point, should probably be a bit more thankful that Five Guys opened out here, especially in this part of TX. We have What-a-Burger as another local favorite. They're good, but they're no Five Guys.

5 guys loses all credibility that it probably would have simply because they refuse to cook burgers any temperature but well done. I don't care if it's their norm to normally do well done, but the fact that they refuse to do anything less completely ruins the fact that they go to such lengths to get good quality meat, and thus makes their burgers overpriced.

Quick edit: When the 5 guys in 'bama first opened I got a new guy that did it mid rare on my first visit and it was definitely the best fast food style burgers I've ever had, but since then they now know they will get fired for doing it and I have never returned.

I disagree on this first part completely. A good grill guy can easily cook all the burgers to temp. Hell is fucking easy if you aren't retarded, separate the grill into 5 sections - for the range of temperatures, making them as big or as small as you need to. Restaurant cooks do this all the time while throwing steaks/chicken/pork/seafood into the mix. Most fast food jobs are way harder than 5 guys so I don't want to hear they can't do it. And before anyone says anything about money, trust me, the restaurant guys don't really make more.

I just avoid the fast food burgers in general (No, I do not consider 5 guys fast food, their quality is better, and I've never seen one with a drive through. I know this doesn't make sense, but I think you get what I mean).. But there are plenty of fast burger joints in my city that have the same quality as 5 guys, cheaper prices, and will serve to temp.
