I generally like leftovers, I'll usually make fresh potatoes/rice to it though. Only pasta leftover I'd save is lasagne. I wouldn't eat something older than a day though unless it was meant to be eaten at a later point.
You are probably right about rich people, never seen my dad keep leftovers. Then again, he throws away socks as soon as they start losing color, so I guess that's not surprising.
