Going back on the "how do you people get so much" .. my family is far from rich. I make like 22K a year, have a mortgage, pay all my bills/food/gas myself yet manage to spend 200~ each on many people. It's mainly due to the fact I'm not silly and wait until two days before Christmas. I start buying my shit back in October! As does my mom and dad who only make about 40K total a year and have the same bills I do PLUS my brother lives with them! And they probably spent $500-$600 on me and about the same on my bro.

But it's not how much you spend but the thought I guess!!

Yar buddy, thats how I do christmas, I start saving up early and then I have plenty to spend on others. My only gripe is when you (and this is a steam thing for me at least) gift friends stuff and they don't return the gesture. I spent about $40-50 on steam sales for other people (10-12) and only one person returned the favor =/

Had a really enjoyable christmas with the family. Was so much fun, we prepared a nice dinner on the 24th and had a nice Christmas lunch today with roast beef. Played board-games and watched one of the movies I got as a present.

The phone I got for myself and the rest my family gave me. Really happy and was surprised as I really did not know what they were getting me.

Brother made me a FF clock, there has been a few posted around the internet, but he took a regular wall clock with neon lights around it, printed out a nice paper of FF 1-12 in a circle like a clock and put it over the regular image the clock came with. Probably one of the coolest gifts I've gotten in a long time. Will upload pics if someone wanted to see.

- 13" LCD TV <-- this one I like, granted I was there to pick it out. Does full 720p resolution, costed a measly $79, sharp display, and has the usual ports (coaxial/composite/s-video/component/hdmi/vga). I was in the market for a TV tuner a couple months back, but they're not exactly cost effective. This small TV is a good answer to that problem since I have it located near my desk, where the 13" size isn't a problem at all. Got the Wii hooked up to it currently, looks great on something that isn't >20". Really starting to run out of room in my bedroom though with the amount of screens and consoles I got set up in here. ;/

I do the same thing as well. I spent a good bit of money on each of my brothers and my mom/dad, but I love me some black friday. That's where most of my gifts come from. Even growing up poor my mom/dad still managed to get us stuff like Nintendos and Sega Genesis because they saved up and shopped smart.

The phone is the Motorola Milestone 2. The Milestone is the European version of the Droid. So it's actually a Droid 2. Absolutely love the phone, so amazing. :D
And my family bought presents early this year. I gave my sisters a list of games and stuff I would like and they then kept an eye on the Amazon UK and Amazon Germany sales and discounts. Most of those PS3 games actually sold for ~20 Euro at some point or another so they then snatched them.
Buying presents early and especially buying them online can save a lot of money, so you can either stay in your budget easily or buy more presents. ^_^

And to me Christmas is definately about spending it with friends or family. This was one of the most fun Christmases for me, we just enjoyed eachother's company and laughed so much.

Had a pretty good Christmas morning here myself. All-in-all I ended up with:

Various clothing items (Mt. Dew PJ pants, a hoodie, a Beatles T-shirt, and some boxers)
32g iPod touch
12 month xbl card
George Foreman grill (This was more of a joke gift from my grandmother, since I have been saying I want a GF grill for years now to make burgers while I game, I never expected to actually ever own a George Foreman grill in my life)
and last but not least, some chocolate, gum, and a rubber spatula to use on my lolgrill.

Used to love Christmas as a kid, but our family hasn't put up a tree in over 10 years. Although we usually spend christmas at my aunts with the entire extended family. Tree and lots of gifts there. Being an asian family money is the way to go now. Especially if you're not a kid. Lol. Won $6 from the scratch cards I got from parents. They also gave me cash money & a $25 Starbucks card.

God i need to start a family. Christmas with kids is hella more fun. Lol. Tonight should be fun get to see my younger cousins open up there gifts. Got my cousin a shit ton of lego & electric car track.
