because its too hard to make additional macros and adjust your spellcast (wahh)

Not really, mostly because of inventory issues. Both, overall space for all jobs gear and 80 inventory for MNK gear.

Also spellcast have nothing to do with it. Idk if normal windower macros aren't better if you would like to use dDEX for EP-EM mobs and STR for high lvl ones. Let say you are in dynamis and you fight EP-VT mobs. Would spellcast be able to figure it out which WS set to load ?

It doesn't "figure it out", it does what you tell it. So you set a "dex matters" group and use that when dex matters.

I don't remember but don't EP and VT mobs in dynamis share the same names? How would you set spellcast then?

Ok I need to admit I have no idea what you ppl writing about here.

Anyone can explain it in more then 2 lines of group names?

Spellcast change gear by itself, correct?
It will change gear based on some set trigger, correct?
One trigger can be WSing , correct?
Second trigger would be name of the mob you want to WS, correct?
Spellcast will wear the set based of which group (highdex or default) contains the name you fight, correct?

How you gonna set mobs in dynamis if they have the same name and one will be EP and second VT?

You change variables via a macro that will tell it what gearset to use when you hit the ws button. If you fight harder things you change the variable to use str, if you fight weaker things you change the variable to use ddex. You don't need to do it by name.

So you go to xml and change it every time you switch from EP to VT and vice versa?

    No, you:
    /sc group HighDex
    or
    /sc group DefaultGear

You type the "change group" command ingame. In dynamis you'd have one ws macro for your low dex set and one macro for your high dex set, each of which would switch you to the relevant group. You hit the correct macro for the mob you're wsing on.

You know man, if you asked we could just set you up with Spellcast. You obviously have the skills to play as well as you're currently playing without spellcast, so why not do yourself a favor and use it? The odds of SE not banning for windower but banning for Spellcast usage are nil, so it doesn't introduce any more risk, and you're just doing your poor fingers a disservice by pressing all your gear macros.

Situations like the dDEX difference are the only time when Spellcast makes a difference over windower macros really, and even then you could just set up a different windower script for high dDEX and do the same thing. The main benefit is that Spellcast automates any difference that you can script it to detect. To automate something like dDEX difference though, you'd have to go through and name all the targets where you want to use high or low dDEX builds. Not worth it.

Errr... that was a parsing error. Brutal Earring > Raider's in Abyssea.

It's not like that. I'm not worry to use spellcast because of banning. I simply put a lot of effort to optimize my windower macros for most of my jobs and I am now to lazy to start it again with spellcast. I don't like to use someone's xml because I really like to have 100% control over my char and know what to do in every situation. I am very used to my windower macros that I use it pretty much automatic w/o even thinking about it so switching for spellcast will require a lot of work. I will probably decide to learn/know it and start with creating/changing xml during some next long maintenance or some large free time. I have stuff to do in RL which is far more important now tho :/

Now something completely different - Anyone can translate what did the damage on this ss (it's from studio gobli)

    Lol?
Where the fuck I said someone is wrong? When I was critiquing ppl in this discussion?

All I said was Dex build is hardly useful for Vsmite because of inventory issues and not because of problem with macro it in. All questions about spellcast was made to get useful info not to make my statement more valid.

Your outside abyssea gear set has dex+39 which is enough to cap dDEX on something around EP-DC. Any regular VT or NMs you will need like 20+ more DEX.

Since you want to use dDEX on trash mobs we can assume pDIF is high so crit adds a little less. I honestly don't know how to calculate Impetus in. More crit rate making dDEX diminishing return but crit damage makes additional crit rate more worth it.

If we already here I wonder what legs we should use for Vsmite outside for VT mobs? I assume byakko with crit damage 4% with Impetus but which one when it is down?

Colibri needed 117 DEX to cap ddex and they were 82, at an extremely generous and probably unrealistically high 1agi/level, a level 95 (VT) monster would need 130 DEX to cap ddex. With my shitty elvaan dex at 80 as mnk/war, that's 50 dex to cover in gear. Byakkos is already 15, so 35 really. Out of gear you'd probably have on mnk anyway:
    Aias (8)
    Warwolf (5)
    raja (5)

Which leaves 17 dex to cover in other slots. Hachiryu hands and a dex ring would cover your ddex set for VT and lower in 3 extra pieces of gear (byakko, hachi, dex ring) which I don't know what the hell your mnk carries around, but I've got plenty of space for (~70/80 with all my gearsets on me). Even assuming no hachi hands it's no more than 5-6 slots and you can probably leave your pdt/mdt gear in the satchel if you're fighitng trash mobs anyway.

Trying to get that 130 dex you will lose about 6%damage from WSC 3%WS damage from head and about 15 attack (that's another 2%?). Anyone willing to math if that worth for 20%crit rate and if yes then on what pDIF?
