I'm starting to think full amber is *not* the way to go. This afternoon I wasn't capped amber and I was getting a nice mixture of small and large gold. I was getting a ton of powerful chests because they weren't filled with pointless key items. Tonight i was capped amber again and getting 95% large chests with a hefty chunk being key items. 19 failpins today lol.

Got Tantra Hose +2 today... wondering which of these TP sets would be best...?

- Usukane Body, Hands, Feet, Tantra+1 head, Tantra+2 legs (26% Haste w/ BB, enhanced kick rate)
- Usukane Body, Hands, Tantra+1 Feet, Tantra+1 head, Tantra+2 legs (24% Haste w/ BB, enhanced kick rate/damage)

Is this the point where I don't wear full usukane anymore?

Build B swap usu hands for Aurore

Both builds work, build b shoudl slightly beat build A

And at this point full usu only serves as an eva build. Once you get +2 head, full usu serves no purpose.

None off the leeches. I have noticed a better drop rate off lizards though for gold boxes in general. You might be right about that capped amber light deal, but what were the augments on those powerful items and how many amber lights did you do?

They can be soloed, but after the first few you may need to sac pull. The Antlion's (conflux 3) are also a good solo choice since they roam and you can get away without having to sac.

Got it to 17% on my third try 3boxing WAR WHM RDM. I'd imagine you could do it if you give it a few tries, but the draw-in and hate resets makes it annoying as fuck to multibox.

Your best bet is probably just tagging along with another group on one of your chars, to get the kill/brew abyssite and then just farm it solo from there.

Yeah, I figured it would probably do ok, but it was a "silly question" for a reason, lol. I'll probably do just that. I'll probably have to wait until NA time, though, cause JPs are fucking dickbags. It's like it's 2004 again, oh wait, they never changed.

And @Greg: I got my pin from Saplings, but that was only because they didn't give ruby light and I was trying to camp Gangly Gean for the NIN item. Looking back, I got my pin with capped amber, but I'm pretty sure my amber wasn't capped when I got my -6-5-4 ring. Was only getting crappy -3-3ish rings with capped, although I'm sure that was just random luck.

The number of amber lights is confusing which is why I was a bit vague in my previous post. Generally I go blm and bring a THF Mule to amber/pearl with. I go to #2 and begin pearl/ambering VNM/pavan while capping magic off sods and Ephemeral Limules during vnm repops. I was told by a LSmates which I haven't been able to verify by this thread that if I have all 3 kismet and destiny abyssites that I can cap azure/pearl/amber in 10 kills of each light. It's odd, sometimes with 10 kills lights seemed capped, sometimes they need a couple more, idk if it's based on the number of emph/vnm vs regular sods but I generally kill 10 of each then move off to -ga'ing leeches. That is a great point someone made about the nm pop items in small chests becoming key items in large chests, I hadn't thought about that. As for the augments, after easily 30 hours now I've yet to see a -6 stat or refresh pin, all the pins are just elemental augments ranging from 2-4(?) elemental resists and the rings range upto -5%.

Lights seem a bit odd based on level cap change, I definitely don't think emph limules give atleast 5, and nms give 10 as the abyssea lights page and heresay denotes. I don't mind putting in countless hours, I'd just like to make sure that I can possibly get the pin lol. Maybe I'll start -ga'ing saplings, leeches are just easy to pull because theyre plentiful in a fairly small area.

Any chest(and item) can drop off any mob. Big gold chests have higher quality augmented items in my experience. More amber means more gold chests.

They're not -that- uncommon without blue if you have TH but it's good to get. Really just melee him down with DD+Helaers, Ruminator isn't that dangerous, just don't get hit during Mighty Strikes. Hadal Satiator is harder really.

As long as you're both /NIN, any DD & Healer Duo could handle it with no problems at all.

In general other options win out. Kemas when not acc capped, Merman/Aesir otherwise. If you're acc/att capped, then it's the best by a small margin.
