Random Question Thread XVIII: Just an Ordinary Sword of Legend

Well it matters if time I spend making those weapons could be spent making a slightly inferior one then farming seals for AF. Ive started working a schedule that has me online after most LS events these days, so I'm doing a lot of things on my own time & with *shudder* shout groups.

Basically I don't want to spend a month camping NM's if the difference between those weapons and others are marginal or worse, situational. If it wont take that long and I'm completely misreading the pain in getting those NM's then please elaborate. I hate camping NM's with large spawn windows, its not fun to me and I'd rather not do it over and over for something without a reason beyond 'this weapon skill is best'.

There's nothing situational or even marginal about it. Verethragna is miles ahead of Revenant +2, which in turn is well ahead of pretty much everything except maybe Spharai. It's a huge upgrade.

EDIT: Well, there's also the aftermath and extremely attractive DPS on Vere... But Smite really is that fucking good. Also, +2s can be farmed relatively quickly compared to the epeen gear of old. Consider picking up something like Furor Cesti while you work on either/both. Not like it has to be done all at once.

Just getting access to victory smite even if through the gimped version will do much much much more for you than any other gear could.

Is ZNM Claret hard? I have never done it even though I have done a boatload of ZNM before, but always Ob or BB for that path. I checked wiki and most of the discussions were from a couple years ago. Can blm or rdm solo it? and what's the drop rate on the necklace like? Thank you.

Looking at the page on the wiki I would be surprised if it wasn't soloable by either of them, using 2hr if needed to speed it up. If it's gravity-able (which it is according to wiki) theoretically there shouldn't be a problem?

Do the elemental gorgets / belts work with the level 3 properties of Emp's / Relics. Is it safer just to stick with the corresponding level 2 property gorget?

FFXIAH shows now Empy owners and gives credit in achievement for them. The problem is Community Linkshell has no empy icons added (I think, because wheen I log off with equipped empy CL shows nothing in main slot) so only way to add empy on ffxiah profile seems to be guildwork. The question is if this whole guildwork is safe? I dont care much about those achievement points and I wanted to get them more for LS for fun. Idk if its worth the risk (if there is any risk) and use guildwork.

If I remember a wotg cutscene correctly relics were made by "the best smithers around vanadiel" (or something).

Little question for brew'ing Rani on MNK, would Ascetics be better and just hold when it does a tp move or should I go with staff for Full Swing/Retribution (leaning towards Retribution) and Cataclysm?

Rani resists the hell out of Dark damage so Cataclysm isn't going to do any sort of worthwhile damage. If you're brewing on MNK, I'd just use Smite or Fury to be perfectly honest. That or I've heard it may be worth trying Beyond/Ultimate/Baying Moon and spamming Flash Nova, but this would require /WAR or /SAM. It's definitely easy enough to just use a Physical WS while it's casting though.

along those lines, what would be the best club for a monk to use for flash nova brewing (could use true strike as well during spells i'd imagine). deae gratia seems a bit overpriced, at least on alexander. would fourth mace be ok? a little MAB couldn't hurt.
