I always fuck up calculating the delay reduction cap; what's the standard set used to hit that and wear AF3+2 body?

Using Suppa and +2 head you'd need 25% gear haste (doesn't have to be true capped), Haste, and Marches with AF3+2 hands or 90 Ghorn.

It's not worth it solo. Coming back as you are, you're missing Furtherance, Merit, Sojourn, and Lunar Abyssites. In addition, you're lacking some crucial atmas. I would recommend finding 3-4 other players. Preferably ones that let you get the following PT combinations : NIN WAR MNK WHM and BLU/NIN BLM/BRD WHM/RDM.

Ok. I'm still debating whether or not I really want to come back. I'm like 60/40. Should I xp those jobs to help out my cause. I hear it doesn't take much to gear up a job now.

In my experience, it certainly can. Also, I've recently become convinced that you really cannot proc during Stun.

It can. The stun thing has also been known since scars.. it's really easy to test.

I know, but I finally had it happen to me the other day. Stun -> Freeze bite -> No proc, Freezebite -> Proc.

The only reason I can imagine someone saying it doesn't take much to gear up is because the drops are more accessible (Less competition, high drop rates with the right !!, and fast repops/pop item NMs). The amount of gear you need may have increased depending on what you play. I would definitely level those classes if returning to the game.

You're quite possibly thinking back to my post long ago on Cep-Kamuy. Orbons apparently have a roar animation that I didn't know about, where you obviously can't trigger a weakness. Learn something new every day, etc. If it is timed properly, trigger is always favored over discernment. If it is timed improperly, there is the regular chance for discernment.

Definitely not 999 mab, it's much less than that.

When the first brew was used, i mathed it out to be a minimum of 100 mab, but obviously that was a nuke, so there was no way to know if it was more (because we don't know if/where int caps, etc). If someone hasn't already found how much mab it gives, qd would make it trivial to figure out, since it is not affected by other stats.

As a random note, INT definitely hits a ceiling in the magic damage equation, it's observable on Tier 1s and I think with Taru on Tier 2. I don't have the numbers any more, but the ceiling increase from T1 to T2 was pretty significant. All 999 INT definitely isn't having an effect, but I'd imagine a fair amount of it is. It's not reasonably testable anyways, so I suppose there's not much point in discussion.

Question: Can I buy Doom/Terror screens in Abyssea-Paradox, or do I need to go to Altepa/Grauberg/Uleguerand to get them?

1. [Boring stuff] Buy Abyssea so your stone countdown starts, then enter one of the visions abyssea zones (La Theine, Tahrongi, or Highlands), GET VISITANT'S STATUS, and exit the zone . Repeat for all nine zones.
2. Abyssites

Abyssite of Celerity 3x (Or as much as possible)
Abyssite of Sojourn 6x (Or as much as possible)
Join an XP PT to build cruor (BLM > SMN > BRD > RDM > RNG > PUP considering ability to kill mobs solo, PT dynamics, and !! abilities)
Buy all Convluxes for every zone

At this point, you're "stable" as far as accessibility is concerned. You'll gain roughly 3 stones per day and 48min (Instead of 30min) per stone. You'll also be able to teleport to any zone and any region within that zone.

3. Your next goal is to strengthen your character. This is where Atma comes into play.
- Abyssites
*** Merit [HP/MP]: Priority
*** Furtherance [HP/MP]: Secondary
*** Lunar Abyssite [# of Atmas you can use]: Tertiary (I say 3rd because you won't have all the atmas at this point)

Look on wikipedia and see which ones will be easiest to obtain. This listing is only here in case two abyssites seem equally as easy to obtain.

*** Unlock Synthesis Atmas [See Wiki page for details]
*** Minikins
*** Razed Ruins
*** Voracious Violet
*** Beyond

Once you have these done, your character will be decent for attack and have the general atmas.

4. Before obtaining the rest of atmas, I would return to Abyssites and finish Fortune, Kismet, and Destiny.
5. Finish all zone bosses + Caturae + Shinryu
6. Work on more specialized atmas
7. Work on gear.

Screens come from Dominion Ops, so you buy them at the Heroes zones only.

RNG is shit. BRD is still very good, but not as necessary as it was. BLM is good. RDM is... I don't want to say bad or useless, but, redundant, I guess? SMN has a few niche uses. PUP is a surprisingly strong melee DD now (Pummel is one of the best WSes in the game with atmas).

For other jobs
WHM is probably the most universally useful job if you play with other people/2box another character.
NIN is the new SAM-style bandwagon do-everything melee job. They're basically 2nd best in everything as it stands (DD behind WAR, 'tank' behind MNK, melee soloist behind DNC). Also very good for proccing red weakness.
WAR is the strongest DD now, and has the most red weakness WSes. Very good for the first two abysseas, though it's not as good defensively so it can get rough for some of the Heroes NMs.
MNK falls into third among the hierarchy of DDs, but it's massive HP and high counter rate makes it the best tank right now.
