No. You would have received the seal anyways, but instead, you receive nothing.

Edit: Rog ftw. No rerolls FM! And FM, you DO complete the quest. Just to add even more, the fact that you cannot redo the quest in Mis Coast is indication of this.

No idea what mis coast quest you're referring to, but I've sat there and had to make inventory space while doing the Darkness Earring quest because it wouldn't complete the quest nor give me my darkness earring because I didn't have space for the fucking seal. I'm away until tomorrow evening so I can't log on, but I'm roughly 100% sure it works this way. The only thing I can come up with now is different quests work in different ways, and it may only work for some if you guys are so sure some quests don't function this way. /shrug.

No it doesn't. If your inventory is full you'll just never get a seal. You won't get the inventory full try again message.

Screenshot or I don't believe you...as I said, I can't until I get home. This is a pretty pointless "he said she said" otherwise. I'm damn sure, as I said, while doing a specific quest and not trying to abuse it, I had to delete an item, then turn-in a second time because it tried to give me a shitty seal I didn't want when I was at 79/80 (the quest gives darkness earring + maybe a seal)

The problem with that quest most likely has to do with the earring. If you're up to receive a seal, it makes sense that you cannot complete it because a seal would put you at 80 and the earring would be unattainable.

What cruel fate has me agreeing with rog. You will never get a full message when you get a seal but can't. I know this because shit autofalls to me all the fucking time and I never get shit/realize it hours too late.

Christ on a cracker, I thought "seal trick" died long ago. If you don't have room for one, it'll just junk it, not roll to one you can take.

And in terms of full inventory, there's no "saving" what you would get. It's random on turn-in.



In the dozen+ stones I burned on that quest, I never saw a "Can't get X seal" message despite deliberately trying the "trick" when it was first brought up. The droughts of 20+ repeats with no seals at all despite keeping space for DRK and RDM feels like a bit more than just bad luck, too.

That may be possible, but what I'm saying is still true for some quests then (there's more than that 1 that has a reward other than the seal).

I assumed it at least told you it was lost kinda like it tells me that I didn't have room for XYZ item and to resort. Fine, go do the darkness earring quest and screenshot that for me. I'm a bit unsure how many times you've tried this now if it gives no message to the item being lost to be 100% sure of your statement though.

Huh? You mean from the lootpool also seals are different and won't tell you that it's full and you didn't get it unlike every item in the game?

Except, it's quite obvious the trick did work exactly how I said it there. I guess I was slightly off and it only works on quests that have a non-seal reward in addition. Those are the only quests worth doing anyway though..so my bad I guess. That screenshot right there is exactly how you can abuse it to force RDM seals on that quest though, and the probability of getting a red mage seal is -exactly- what I posted. The trick didn't die, and the seal didn't get junked in that first screenshot. I agree with Yugl at this point, and it gives the seal first probably (even though it doesn't seme to show that way in the log), then the real item will fill the inventory,

Well, whatever makes people feel better about a 1/4 chance on top of a 10-20% possibility. Still more than likely looking at 60+ repeats to get 8 of a specific seal regardless of inventory trickery. No sense depriving yourself of other seals since we can now store +1 gear.

I don't disagree with you - I never did any quests specifically for seals (except that darkness earring quest, which I spammed for a different reason, but the rdm seals were a nice bonus for me), but it most definitely works as I said on those quests. I guess I didn't realize it was the other item that was causing the quest to not complete rather than the seal. Seems nobody else really did either or this wouldn't have gone on for a full page - guess we all know more now. I did continually site 1 specific quest though, which Yugl picked up on. Either way, ya, quests blow for seals - especially now with discernment and such. nin/brd/blm seems to be to be a pretty amazing setup for quickly capping on seals. Maybe thf/brd/blm instead. But grellows are incredibly easy to proc. Also, as far as +1 gear goes...I kinda agree with you, but 25k is a lot of cruor now for af3 you'd really never use...1/8th a brew sounds better.

Surprise! You misunderstand.

If you try to turn in a quest that has an item reward with a full inventory, it'll say something about sorting your inventory and trying again - you can't lose rewards because you were short space. As such, if you are trying for a rdm seal, and you are 80/80 with at least 1 rdm seal in your inventory, it'll complete the quest if you would get no reward, and it'll complete and autostack a rdm seal if you get that as a reward, but if you get say bst - it'll say sort your inventory and try again, and you can immediately attempt to complete the quest again. If you do the math, its not some huge increase in droprate, but it is an increase, and will slightly up the frequency of you getting the seal you want. If you want to assume its 60% nothing, 10% per seal, you go from a 10% chance to get the seal you want to a 10/70 = 14.3% chance to get the seal you want.

The seal quests that do not give you other items do not work that way. If you finish a quest without room to accept a new kind of seal, you will get cruor + nothing, rather than getting told to go again.

In over 90 repeats of the sausage quest, I *never* got told to sort my inventory and come back again.

In other words, having a full inventory changes it from 60% nothing 10% per seal, to 90% nothing, 10% for the seal you want. Still a 10% shot.

Anyone do Amhuluk/Briareus/Caraboose after the patch and the whole "TP moves not ignoring height" thing? Still doable by MNK WHM or NIN WHM(for Briareus) as long as I stand max distance?

We've never used height difference on any of those NMs (P.S.: It doesn't make it magically easier, it just means your WHM doesn't have to stand as far away), I don't see why they would have suddenly changed.

Also, just a duo can be rough, he resets hate fairly often, so you may want someone else that's able to help tank while you regain your hate, if possible. It's still doable, though.

Have the WHM use /BLM and attempt to Stun Thunder IV and Thunder V. If they miss it either fight through spikes or back-tank it for a 60-90 seconds. Turul has bad acc, and a Lv90 MNK /w evasion gear should have little to no trouble evading majority of the hits. You can do /NIN for added security but it's not needed~
