Is there some extra trick to the abyssea grauberg quest with the ominous skull? I got the skull first and then opened the quest, but the npc won't take the skull. Do I actually have to rekill it? It just mentions needing to trade the skull, I tried zoning but still nothing.

I didn't notice this answered, but for that quest, you need to click the ??? in C-5 (next to where the map has "Skyrend" written) first then the NPC will accept the skull.

It depends on modifiers.

Herculean Slash is Induration/Impaction/Detonation (Ice/Thunder/Wind) so Snow/Thunder/Breeze gorgets will work for it.

Where's the best place to solo High Kindred Crests? Do they drop outside of abyssea?

They supposedly do, but they seem way more common inside.

If you want to lot exclusively, grab some LS friends and help them get their AF3 feet from gold boxes while they help you get High Kindred Crests.

Tigers(Flux 7) and Dolls(Flux 8) aren't bad. Both have ops right next to the mobs itself. Although Dolls require longer pulls.
