It's generally accepted that the amount of enhanced light is based on the level of the mob (including Ephemerals).

Yet to see a shred of evidence to try and prove this. It was a theory that someone came up with, but unless I've missed it, it hasn't been backed up at all.

Same thing. Callling bullshit untill someone bothers to properly test it. As it is, it looks like they just randomly give higher tier chests when your lights aren't capped, rather than increasing your actual lights.

i've been out of the loop on ninja since the beginning of scars, and haven't really been paying much attention to it until now for the fact that i'm fed up with samurai being a piece of trash for +90% of the things i do in-game these days, and then i account the fact that zero to hero is easier done than said as well, and, well, you get the idea

fairly certain that kidnoftle dudeface or whatever would have the answers i would surely seek Q_Q

also, for ninja atmas, i assume rr/gh/apoc > rr/gh/ss for nin since you can abuse kamome/qirmiz/loki's/cavaros and [nearly] cap crit dmg+, enough to the point where the 15% triple attack would crush the minuscule increase from ss and using str/dex/atk in the slots otherwise

That out of the way, what are my target mobs here, and how do I go about capping out my lights first and which ones do I need? Last time I tried to do amber lights there after an exp pt on mnk, I couldn't find any eph mobs whatsoever (could find a bunch of ones at 100% w/ show all on ap radar, but couldn't find them for shit so ended up having to do amber on adamantoise mobs >.>)

Cap azure pearl and amber. Don't bother looking for ephmerals, only mobs that can amber are adamantoise, wyrms, and sandworms. I prefer adamantoise personally. T1 VNMs are great for capping pearl.

Once you have lights capped I'd recommend cleaving bats, they link and dont give ruby. Also you can just amber T1 VNM aswell.

Around 40% it likes to start using 4,000 needles 1-3 times in a row. Suggest having stuns (BLU Head Butts works fine) after it uses the first 4,000 Needles so you don't get flurried by another 1-2 of them.

Personally, we didn't try to duo/trio it. We had 6 people (MNK, WHM, RDM, BLU, BLU, BLM) all in range to absorb the needles. Shits easy with stuns.

Spams 4k needles back to back at low hp. Have your whm brd get HP atmas or get more bodies (avatars, pets etc).

I've always auto-sorted spells, but have finally decided to manual sort. Came out amazing, but I have the bad habit of auto-sorting without thinking about it. Is anyone aware of a hack or app that lets you customize the order of magic when you do an auto-sort of spells? Would be great to populate the order across all of my characters and prevent me from f'ing it up.

RR/GH/DarkDepths for hi, I think thorny has a better idea on ws sets for it than I do but its pretty straight forward; as much agi as possible. Best tp set ups vary dependent on acc(obv) but a pretty standard cookie cutter tp set would be

Kannagi/Kamome/x/Qiriz tath
Iga+2/Iga/Iga/Suppa
af1(iga+2)/dusk+1/Rajas/Epona's
Iga/Goading/Iga+2/Iga+2

The () is normally the only piece I swap out for acc or when att speed is capped. If you have full haste buffs go w/ igabody+2 and brutal over iga earring. Starting from scratch and assuming you have a dbox that has either rdm or whm you could complete all the +2s in about 10hrs. If you have access to brews it will make the body obtainable in as fast as you can kill the repops.

Yes on mobs that don't have piercing bonus'. Backpieces for tp go Iga > Cavaros > if you can't get cavaros, quit ffxi. Same for ws afaik (the new +5dex/str piece would be probably be better)

Alright, so I need some numbers from people as I have absolutely no idea how much STP is needed on SAM for the non-450 GKs these days. Obviously full merits.

How much STP in gear is needed to 4-hit a 464 delay GK with and without a STP: Major Atma? And 5-hit?

Same questions for a 437 or w/e Masamune/WoEMasa is.

And a 480 Delay Polearm? (Is Polearm even worth it nowadays?)

If you have rdm with a decent -PDT and phalanx 2, i suggest mandies. They don't link so you'll have to pull with dia/diaga or something of the like. Use tacos and VIT/regen atmas if you have them on rdm and they'll rarely break SS/phalanx. Assuming azure is capped and you can pull a decent amount, you're almost guaranteed to get restore chests every pull, so MS/sekk/300tp should wipe out a majority of the pull, which eliminates the need for many cures(on top of phalanx2 on the war already).
