Does -Cure cast time cap at -50%?
Does -Cure cast time cap at -50%?
Empyrean weapon thread got kinda derailed these days, so let me ask it here. Me and some friends are going for empy weapons soon. But my friend kind of can't decide which one to make: Caladbolg (G. Sword) or Redemption (Scythe) for his DRK. I've read some testimonials and saw screens here and elsewhere about these weapons WS output, but without any good conclusions. Anyone is able to provide a reasonable side by side comparison of which weapon would be less disappointing for him (lv85 versions would do for now)?
We're all reasonably geared, but not e-peen maniacs and kinda playing for fun these days, but wouldn't want to waste time camping weapon that's not worth it (time is not an issue, going for wrong weapon is). I'm asking for what should I advise him, from the number crunching perspective is better.
Would twilight cape work the same way as a light obi for cures?
The way its worded makes me think that it just enhances the bonus that is present- Like if you were casting Thunder 4 on day with double weather, the bonus damage caps out at 1.35 multiplier, so it may just raise the cap on that. Easiest way to test would be to go to Temenos and test for yourself :3
Tested Qirmiz Tathlum today cause I couldn't find info about it anywhere else. Killed Wild Rabbits for around 40 minutes with no other crit damage+ gear besides tathlum. Highest crit w/o was 204, highest with was 214. So it seems to be 5%. Loki's/Qirmiz/Kamome/Razed Ruins puts NIN at the cap so Cavaros Mantle and Sanguine Scythe are utterly pointless.
The above is correct.
Torcleaver has a higher ceiling similar to how Kaitan has a higher ceiling than Gekko at 100% tp. Torcleaver's modifier isn't as good as scythe's, but its ftp is way better, 4.75 vs 3.00. However, Quietus does get a decent ignore defense trait which is the same idea as a cratio bonus. So it depends. If your friend likes to lowman, which I would think would be low on attack even with cruor and atma buff, and likes to play with NMs, then I think scythe is the way to go. But if your friend is usually buffed (cor brd etc etc), and likes the idea of high WS number on normal mobs, GS is the way to go. To put it simply, ask him if he like guillotine better or spinning slash better before empyrean. If he likes guillotine better, then do GS, if he likes spinning slash better, then do scythe. Kinda ironic but that's how it is, the role of the two weapons are completely reversed.
I'm looking to farm drg body, I need a bit more information before deciding what to fight. Experience and wiki both agree that Chione is not the best target simply because she does not drop the seal often. Given the 15min repop in addition to the fact that she pops at the bottom of the mountain and climbs up almost instantly, I'm probably going to cross her off my list. Given that, it seems the Pixie and Scorpion NM are next on the list. The scorpion NM, admittedly, looks like it's doable with less people than the pixie (Or at least faster). However, I would like to see if anyone has experience with the drop rates on either of these. Also, if I choose the scorpion, Vadleany "looks" bad on wiki, but perhaps they were doing something wrong?

or war af3 neck for tp? (str+3, double attack +2% on ravager's gorget)
Af3.
I'm thinking of doing fame building in Vunkerl for my last celerity abyssite. There's a quest to deliver a package to flux 00. I have to run all the way from Base camp to flux 00? If so, does Fleet Wind work or not work, does it stack with ambition atma? Side note, sucks Hanuman likes to roam near that narrow passageway between #2 and #3. Any helpful info from people who've done this and easiest way to do this would be nice, also how many it takes on heavy to get to fame level 3?
How would you distribute BLU merits? Not sure how to balance Category 2... My BLU is rather casual, for duo/solo and small events, doesn't do HNM.
iirc it was 7 times for level 3 fame, maybe 6. Throw on atma of apoc, die, reraise and you lose the gravity effect and can run at normal speed.
Edit: Doesn't have to be atma of apoc to work btw, can cast it or use an item, anyway works. Apoc just seems like it'd be easier.
i'd do ward to end all wards and trade in a stack or 2 of sanguinets, it is quick as hell
