MDT caps at -50%, but MDB has no known cap. The appropriate way to go about it is to try to get to the -50% cap, then use MDB to lower it further.

just a repost of a question from a few days ago- does a 5/5 phalanx II with the new enhancing magic cap exceed the damage mitigation of phalanx? Obviously a question of self-cast.

with 5/5 Phalanx II merits and 408 skill, Phalanx II and Phalanx both stop 31 damage. Enspell does 25.

Numbers on formula above 320 skill? It hasn't followed a set pattern from what I could see. Still can't justify 5/5 Phalanx Merits in my opinion other than duration.

What jobs? The T1 VNMs in Dominion areas are much tougher than the others. They're nothing difficult, but they die way slower. The wind elemental in Grauberg has a gravity aura - not sure about the others. I think it'd actually be faster to kill some weak NMs for pearl (Amdumbla, Tabilla, Iko-Roa all come to mind). Those are the three weakest I can think of for each zone.

Never really gave much thought to soloing it, but it's only barely the best TP neck for MNK, depending on if you get an extra +1 DMG from it. It's usefulness wanes in and out as you level, depending on your H2H skill. It's still nice to have - but I wouldn't lose sleep over it, especially if you have Ancient Torque or that collar from the Attohwa T2 VNM.

RDM, MNK or SCH, and SAM is typically what we run with. Figuring out some options, getting 15 pearl in over 80 kills ruins an evening. Might look into those NMs.

i guess after an extreme purgation glavoid later unleashed a disgorge that did 9k total dmg between me (war) and a mnk, we'd been reshelled and i was in mdt gear. it hadn't been dispelled fully but i don't know what buff it could have taken from us to supercharge disgorge that much, any ideas? wasn't earthsday either

Looking to lowman the sandworm in Attohwa. I've read it can be done w/ BLM, WHM, MNK- with the MNK kiting when necessary.

I also remember seeing this NM is capable of using an AoE for thousands of damage.

I can't find more specific details than that. When and why would I need to kite, and can the facerape AoE be avoided entirely?

You would never kite, and there is no facerape anything. DD+WHM is fine.

I justify it by there being another RDM who's normally around with 5/5 Para II. And what else am I going to do with them?

If you can avoid healing it the fight takes the duration of a stalwarts drink, DD WHM.

Wiki being Wiki then? I could have sworn I saw pics of it doing some move for 3000-5000 or something insane. Is it easier or harder than Glavoid? Does it have any annoying tricks?
