No it's not the same thing. Nyo's isn't doing anything more than /sc set mdt would do.

Not true - /sc set mdt swaps you now, but pending aftercast/midcast swaps can swap you back. Those are aborted when a new spell is fired. Both ways have uses (mdt during casting > normal gear on execution, or mdt now and stay on) but they aren't the same thing.

yes, had to proc ice a few times on the snoll NM in the range, all ice nukes heal him, and still got !! to proc.

Yes, but afaik the message will point to the highest tier (may be range dependent).

Pay attention to what the message says. Softly Strongly etc something along those lines. Stronger it sounds, higher tier it is.

Sounds like you're using SSorganizer with the default filing format.

If you want them all in 1 folder then put this in your init:

load ssorganizer
sso dirformat
sso fileformat {%Earth.Year}.{%Earth.Month}.{%Earth.Day}__{%Earth .Hour}.{%Earth.Minute}.{%Earth.Second}

Toggle sorting files by name to make the most recent SSs appear 1st or last.

They should all be in the screenshots folder labeled as such (if I were to take a screenshot in FFXI at the time of typing this):

Edit: There shouldn't be a space after Earth in the {Earth.Hour} part but for some reason, despite there being no space when I'm typing it (or trying to edit it) it's showing up in the post anyway, weird.

I'm stuck on Hazy Prospects. I've wasted ~20 hrs of Aby time trying to find a target-able Dark Miasma for this quest. I used Apradar to make maps of spawn points and go in spending an hour or two here and there making laps checking each one. I randomly check between mobs/camps in runs and just seem to have no luck with this. I even built up 10 hrs of Aby time, camped the same spawn point that some said they had it pop at (near Blazing Eruca pop), and mashed a /targetnpc and /item macro. For those who've completed it, do you have any advice or have you seen it certain places more often than others?

I've seen the targettable ones pop up a lot more around Conflux 05 lately.

Assumin' you meant to ask about a 5-hit, which is a minimum of 29 STP. You'll want close to 37~ so you don't have to wear so much STP in your WS set.

What's the optimal way to setup Bloodpacts in spellcast now with the addition of Blood Boon?

"Blood Boon" is calculated during midcast, right?

So BP Time delay in precast, then Blood Boon would have to take up spots in midcast, along with acc/attack stuff?

Other than the standard "MNK+WHM can do anything in Abyssea", you're 10 levels higher than when this NM was introduced, so I can't imagine it being that much of an issue to low man DD+WHM style. Maybe someone there to sleep/kill the antlions that it spawns, so 3man

Does not work. Critical hit damage would however.

I killed enough times to get 2x drops using nin + rdm + dual box thf. The key really is limiting TP on the nm himself. The adds are gimp as hell and literally kill themselves from DOT and can be 1-2 shotted by RDM nukes. The only time things got hairy was when I engaged THF for TH bonus. In hindsight rdm was pointless, you can't enfeeb the mob so I would have been better off on whm. WHM + NIN should be able to duo the nm itself, the only issue is the pull. I'm guessing WAR may have been less successful because of the massive subtle blow NIN gets now.
