I'll need to revisit that weapon since I've forgotten about it since it came out, but I'll be very angry if that turns out to be the case.

Well that didn't work. First chainspell made quick work of me. Shell V, MDT 24% in gear eating CS nukes for 600, didn't take too long to die.
Alright rog, what's the rdm strat? Keep in mind I've never done anything more than para, slow, blind, and cure 4 on this character and it was born as a mule so it's gear isn't up to standard (even for 75). That being said explain it like you would to a retard, because otherwise I won't have a clue what you're talking about.
Edit: and if the answer is pinning, I've never done it so please explain how to go about doing that as well.
This is probably the dumbest question ever asked, but how the fuck do you purchase the Abyssea add-ons? Trying to activate them on a mule. They're not listed under Optional Services (only the original xpacs and the 3 original add ons are there). I managed to buy Heroes through the little ad for it on the log-in screen, the same one that advertises security token sales. But where are Visions and Scars?
I must be the dumbest person on earth.
You have the WOE weapon, how did you do the VNMs last time?
Honestly, if its to hard for you to solo/duo, shout. Im sure you can find other people who need them as well.
Kite? It moves at flee speed. You can kite it when it's NOT doing chainspell because it stops to cast and do gaze moves, but the problem is during chainspell. During chainspell, he barely stops to move and sleepga II will stall you slightly even if you have poison on. Either way, you're not outrunning a flee speed NM during chainspell. Furthermore, the difference between our set up isn't enough to change it from 300 to 150 dmg since he doesn't stick to a particular element. If I'm getting hit for 300 dmg, that's going to be the general ball-park range for most players since I'm at capped MDT as well.
I solo'd the first one for my trial on a friend's RDM and it wasn't hard, but there were a couple of hairy moments during Chainspells. Really the only way it can kill you is if it won't let up on the Sleepga > t4 combos. It didn't happen to me, but it killed my friend once and I don't know how you can 100% guard against it. I suppose the best thing to do is to limit the number of potential Sleepgas it can get off by kiting properly.
Edit: an average of 100-150 unresisted sounds pretty bulshitty, but I can't recall what I was taking nor do I have any screenshots to back it up. Regardless, I wouldn't take rog's advice on soloing too seriously since I'm pretty sure that he flee hacks his fights a lot of the time based on previous discourse. And before I get jumped on for being a hater let me just add that 1. I don't care about people flee hacking (I'd be a hypocrite if I condemned anyone for doing it even though I personally don't understand why anyone would use it in order to kill something) and 2. I think he's a good and usually very helpful poster. I'm just being honest.
So I have a 2nd account with access to only the basic areas of FFXI (no Zilart, etc)... how would I buy the CD keys for these areas without needing to download the files (since I already have them all installed anyway)?
I don't remember exactly where you can buy ad-ons but I know I bought them while I was seeding around the Playonline screen. I think it was after I went to ffxi. On phone or I'd check.
I asked about Shoggoth's chainspell a few pages back, around page 65-69.
Took me a few attempts to get it but i think I have it down now.
Non-chainspell is easy, especially if you addle him, run out of range when he casts, nuke him when he runs back into range to do gaze attack, then run out of range of next cast.
For chainspell, Let DoT take him down to 79/59/39 so you're not caught off-guard, pop fruit or poison pot, keep running form him and only stop to recast utsusemi (If you just stand still he'll run up to you and use melee attacks inbetween nukes fucking up your utsusemi). Idle in MDT set and if both utsu timers are down, spam C4 and pray. His T4 nukes did around 220-320 to me, my MDT set is 45% with rdm shell 5, and I think 8 MDB.
Make sure you've got enough MP when nearing 20%, get 3 shadows up and pop poison pot, then just CS nuke. My nukes do around 5%, so should take 3-4 T4s depending how good your set is.
Which Atma's for Max Damage for War Raging Rush? Currently testing VV, RR, and SS; previously used VV, RR, and SA. Have quite a few other atma choices that I won't mention because I probably don't even realize that I have them.
Fixed the error with A/O, Seems to be RR/Apoc/A/O atm, SA easily beats SS, GH or DD is an option if no A/O or Apoc.
Dunno if its posted anywhere else on the forum but what is the ideal build now for SAM? 4-hit, 5-hit? How much stp is needed? Based off a 437 delay.
Using a modified form of Motenten's PLD spreadsheet, DA+10% Khanda+2 beats STR Shamshir +2 by less than 1% using DA trait and VV/RR for melee atmas with Almace mainhand. Add Apocalypse and it's a loser. Assumed DA trait set, not using it would give Khanda a small edge. Both beat OAT by ~5%. Haven't double-checked it with my own math, honestly don't care enough these days. Point being though, I figure when you add in spell damage at the very least they'll be about the same. Comparing them as mainhands puts more emphasis on Khanda's advantage in base damage, but it's only 1 point and you're going to make that up twice over in WSC since you're no longer using CDC. Sanguine would move OAT up a bit obviously.
EDIT: OAT would gain ground with non-Almace scenarios as well, since the high delay is no longer affecting aftermath proc frequency.
With all the DA BLU can get these days, it wouldn't really surprise me. 10 from set trait, 5 Brutal, 2 Twilight, 3 Atheling, 3 Epona, and possible 2-3 from body if Aurore/ACP. I might be missing something, but with the DA Khanda, you'll have 35ish DA that can proc on either hand and all WS hits. TP gain would be close or beyond OAT and WS average would be way better.
Edit: I fucked up. DA is once a hand on WS, not once a hit.
Also didn't count atmas, but then, that's hard to account for since different people might use different ones.
On the subject of DA; didn't I read at one point that it had diminishing returns, or was that just considering what gear you had to give up?
What's the best/quickest way to build fame in Abyssea - La theine?
Already a drastically noticeable difference in my average; thank you.
Spam the fishing rod quest, 2 options: bring enough light crystals for 50 synths, maybe extra for breaks. Woodworking 10+ required, synth broken rod guy gives you to completed piece, total flux travel time and rezoning takes 3 minutes. 2nd option, buy the requested finished pieces (50) from npc in sandy, it's a female elvaan who gets the delivery from the little girl near/before the leather guild.
My question, what's fastest or most efficient way to build fame in grauberg abyssea?
