    Unlocking a Pantech Pursuit

    Okay so I recently got a Pantech Pursuit with a contract from AT&T but they kinda screwed me with their hidden fees and whatnot so I want to switch to T-Mobile prepaid and get one of the cheap texting plans (I don't need voice), how would I go about unlocking it from AT&T so I can use it with T-Mobile? I called them and they said it's possible, however I tried Virgin Mobile and Metro PCS and they said no so T-Mobile seems to be the only one that will work.

    Also I'd like to know the procedure to signing up with T-Mobile prepaid with an unlocked phone? Do you just walk into the store and ask to sign up and they register or SIM card or something? I assume I get a new number? What happens to the apps that are AT&T network-based on my phone?

    Once you do this it will work on any GSM network.

    How to get an unlock code for Pantech Pursuit

    Do a code look up to find out if your IMEI number is found. We can 99% percent of the time help you free your phone.

    You can get the unlock code from http://www.cellunlocker.net/

    In order to unlock your phone, we require your IMEI number. You can find this by pressing *#06# on your phone as if you are making phone call.

    Your IMEI number is always 15-17 digits long.

    Once you receive your Unlock Code from us by email, simply follow the instructions below and your phone will be free to use on any GSM network.

    Pantech Pursuit Unlocking Instructions

    1. Turn on phone with accepted SIM card
    2. Press the following keys: *#865625#
    3. A SIM Unlock Menu will appear, press OK
    4. Enter 8 digit Unlock Code
    5. Re-enter Unlock Code (8 digit code)*
    6. Phone will display Unlock Process Complete. Press OK.
    7. Phone is now unlocked

    Okay that's helpful I guess I'll try that site, unless there's way to do it for free? I'm okay with paying I'm just afraid they might scam me something.
