Issues using Windower and Steam Installed FFXI

So, steam is located on my 1gig HDD and installed FFXI to that same HDD. Even when I install windower to that HDD it tells me FFXI is not installed on this computer, and won't find the file. I checked the windower website and can't seem to find a solution or anyone else who has had this problem.

I've done the following to correct but has not worked:

1) run windower launcher as admin.
2) install windower in same folder as FFXI
3) look through launcher.ini/config.ini to redirect source, but couldn't find command line.

anyone have suggestions?


Note: I haven't played FFXI in six months, lost discs, and chose to install through steam cuz it was $5 for game+expansions during christmas sale. also, new computer running windows 7 home edition 64bit.

By default, I believe Windower feeds out of Program Files.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't FFXI way bigger than 1gig? Are you sure the entire game is installed on the HDD? If this is just a typo sorry, but if it isn't then I think you may not actually have it installed on your HDD.

Just download the normal ISOs and install it without Steam. Iirc it doesn't even work correctly with any of Steam's features, does it?

i dont think windower works with ffxi via steam
