what conflicting report...? Enygma55 got what I said, and thats how it works (cept the part about wards, it only lists "in that ward" items not "if its anywhere in all the wards"

like if I move my tarred leather blue trousers from upper tailors row to middle, the search will show a 0 in upper wards and nothing in middle ward (since it won't go on the list)

I'm sorry, what's still confusing me is when you said:

What are they disappearing from? The search list entirely or just their quantity going down to "0?" Because once an item is in the correct ward and appears on a search list, I don't think it ever "disappears," even if they are all purchased.

All the items listed exists in the wards. The number next to the item is the amount of that item to be found in the ward being searched. A 0 means the item exixts, but not in the right ward. That's how I understood it. To find a 0 quantity item you need to physically visit each ward to find it (or hope the seller listed it on YG), since you can only search the "correct" ward with the item search counter, though making a search will mark retainers in every ward with red stars.


I did a test even. I had 2 yellow fishing hats, put one in a wrong ward and one in the right ward. Seacrh was on for that particular hat. The red star appeared instantly as i put it up for sale, the listed numer took a while to appear though, but the number listed was 1, not 2.

It took a few minutes for the number to change to a zero when i took down the one in the correct ward, the hat being sold in the wrong ward I let be there though.

Well, to be honest there is no good way to test if items are ever "un-listed", perhaps the best way would be checking right after a server reset.

I don't think 0 means anything other than "this item appeared once in the correct ward". I have looked for some items listed everywhere and couldn't find them.
I'm sure it works exactly like FFXI's AH where an item remains listed forever and you simply can look if there's one in the correct ward or search the other wards one by one for retainers.

The market ward search searches "all wards". If you see an 3 for say "tarred leather trousers" and you go to upper market row and see only 1★ in the room, it means 2 others "somewhere" in the market area is selling that same item. (This seems to take longer then 5min but it does search all wards and lists the # of retainers selling it). Like currently there are 4 sellers of jade Hora on my server on search, 2 were in battlecraft row and 1 was in jewelers row other in chigaroons(or whatever it is) row)

Once you buy the item, instantly on the next search the counter will go down 1★ (unless there are no more left) then it is left with 0★ on the list.

The list will keep all items ever sold listed until (most likely) a server reset. It does not mean it all sold out 5min ago or 10... or that same day, its just a permanent reminder "someone sold that on this this server in this city's market ward"

This is not true. If the item search says 3 exists and there is only one star in the ward it means that the one person is selling 3 items.

The item search feature does not show the number being sold across all wards, but it will put a star over any retainer in any ward if you search for the item. This is commonly seen as there are 0 items but you can find a red star in a different ward.

hmm your right, took a bit to test with my own retainers, the guy selling jade hora entire ward died so couldn't check to see if he had 4 on him or not ;/

I'm pretty sure I had the drake collar in my bazaar for more than ten minutes but all I can do is try again when I get another. It's an armor metal in the iron mongers ward.

Edit: I got them to show up today. Left them up for about 40 minutes.
