    legit car auction sites?

I'm looking for a legit car auction site that isn't ebay or anything obvious like that. Preferably repossessed cars or stuff like that. I've been told about copart.com, I think copart.com is a scam somewhat. You need to be a dealer or a broker to buy from there, and there is so many fees that they charge on top of whatever you bidded on. I know almost all counties have automotive auctions like once every other month, but a majority of the time you have no idea what your going to be bidding on.

I'm just looking for a site, whether its a salvage or damaged title, to make bids on those type of cars and maybe win a nice one haha.

Dunno about websites but state and local police agencies hold regular auctions for vehicles that were impounded as a result of some kind of crime. You can call your local or state gov offices and they'll usually give you that information regarding when the next auction is held.

Second police auctions. You can find pretty great deals, but make sure you bring someone with you to inspect the vehicles you're interested in beforehand, as most are sold as-is without a mechanic looking at them.

My coworker's husband works in the Orlando auto auction. It's a dealer sales auction that (duh) sells to car dealers. However, you can work with brokers and intermediaries who have licenses to purchase vehicles wholesale and will then resell to individuals like yourself. In my area, I can get monthly reports of the cars that came through the previous month's auction and use it as a benchmark for what I would be expected to pay. If I were to engage the broker, I'd let him know what I was looking for in as much specifics as possible, and also what I'd be willing to pay. If he can get it for me, great. Otherwise, try again next month.

I can't speak for whether or not something like that exists in your area of the globe, but there are private auto auctions out there in addition to the public ones, and the prices can be awesome because they're wholesale sales. The downside is that you have to do your own research for financing, which I expect you've already done, or you're prepared to pay cash for your vehicle (which is better anyway).

Ask around at various car dealerships, they get rid of cars somewhere when they can't leave em on the sales floor.

If your anywhere near MA (on Tapatalk, doesn't say user locations etc...) then in Quincy MA, quirk automotive holds car auctions every Monday.

That's the general case with most automotive auctions. They're held for dealers to swap cars with other dealers, not to sell things at retail level - so second/third/etc the notion to make friends with a dealer if you want to get cars from an auction.

Your best bet if you're looking to do what jmcgarrell suggested is probably to ask a dealer that doesn't deal in the type of car you're looking for, and isn't part of a larger dealer network that would - basically, that will just be bringing the car to auction, and so probably isn't hoping to get more than wholesale out of it.
