When it comes to the subway and its steps whenever it rains or snows it's tripcity. Metal plating on the steps + a smooth metal hand rail is a bad combination. Worse in the outer boroughs where you have elevated lines so ALL of the steps are covered in water. Also outside my house there are quite a few snow mountains taller than me. (6'1ish) It was scary to see. :\
Sweden is, surprisingly, the same way. I don't know how - especially considering we have snow every year - the government can be caught off-guard and state that "We were not prepared". In a country where snow is a rule rather than an exception, I'm quite surprised that snow and falling leaf is an unexpected event that catch them off-guard. It's fun how snow plowing can be delayed by "up to three weeks".
Why do people voluntarily live in a place where it's cold as balls and snowplows threaten your existence?
lol for a second I thought Phoenix was listed under 'Location' for you before I realized it was FFXI server, I was like well yeah not everyone lives in nice-ass AZ weather...
I need to move to Philly. I hear it is always sunny there.

Everytime I see US people bitch about winter, I wanna choke a puppy.

I just flew through Newark and the airport was jammed pack. The main streets looked pretty clear from the plane though.
The city I live in in Canada has a winter parking ban. No parking on city streets at night during the winter months. Everyone absolutely hates the ban because they enforce it even if there is no snow.
And nothing of value was lost.City workers destroy a Ford Explorer trying to free a snowbound front-loader in Brooklyn Heights
Disappoint.
Was hoping for some monster truck or compactor action.
It's fuckin 52 in the south bay. Turning on the heater.
