Prrrretty much. While a crappy market system is an inconvenience that can be navigated with enough patience... having nothing to do in the game is something that actively deters people from even playing in the first place. I just hope enough people with brains took that survey.

    Battle System

Having to stop for a good 1.5-2 seconds just to pull off Passive/Active Mode is aggravating. And since this game is all about positioning, wouldn't it be interesting to see a sprinting aspect to battle? When positioning starts to matter more frequently later on (hopefully), I'd think that getting to an important position or protecting someone at the last second would be just as important as how fast the player got there. Don't hit me -- JUST A THOUGHT.

I still cannot stand that I'm moving through a scroll+select menu configuration when I'm playing an MMO on the PC though. UI is right next to Battle System for importance. Or at least give me universal keybinds. Let me hit "I" for inventory, "O" for Abilities, and so on. Allow me to free up IJKL in a keybind hypothetical as well -- I have a fucking mouse.

Why are you guys arguing about auction houses when you could be trying to figure out what that poem means?

First line basically says the moon can't rise til the sun sets. Second line seems to reference the fire falling from the sky in the opening of the game, and possibly an evil beneath the earth. Maybe danger from above and below.

Third one I don't have a clue. Makes me think of slash and burn. Destroy the old to better accommodate the new.

Last line seems to refer to us, the players.

Don't know how to fit it together. Don't even know if it will even matter.

And lol @ terrible hyperboles on how bad the wards are. They could certainly be improved (see: my suggestion on searches), but come on. I just logged on Thursday to grab Christmas gear, not having played the game for 3 months and, after figuring out how the searches worked (which I had never used before), it took me 5 minutes to buy a full new set of crafting gear.

Then I logged off, having no incentive to level, given how there would be nothing to do with any exp I could have gotten.

^ This is about the only thing I'd consider as important as more content right now (possibly more important). I completely forgot about the targeting crap (fulltime crafter, etc.).
Its cool. I'd wager that SE knows better than Celeras does, despite him having his face shoved that far up their ass. They know they'd better fix it if they want to have any semblance of a chance once Rift/TERA/GW2 and Star Wars comes out. That's why they're pushing so hard now. They know better. They know this stiff, buggy, uninspired tripe they call a battle system isn't holding water and won't until they either overhaul it, or overhaul mob AI to play to its (limited) strengths. Right now all the crappy AI does is frustrate people and bore them to tears when combined with this system. If we at least had something else to keep our minds busy while fighting, like positioning or having to debuff mobs to prevent them from doing certain things (like silencing mages to stop the big-ass spell or heal on their allies), we'd all be feeling a bit better, but right now none of that exists. Hell, a few months ago we had people trying to do as *little* damage as possible, simply to drag boring fights out to collect as much of a reward as possible.

    Pathetic.

The fact that it took this long to figure it out, though, is what will make this such a painful process for them.

I probably can't make a video of it, but doing 5 in a row is pretty damn easy, especially if you choose to always do it at the beginning of battle. Another key thing is always have the same guy activate it. Unfortunately, they do not "rape" or at least they don't appear to have a big effect(for plenty of reasons). So finding people willing to spend even a little effort after doing it 5 times is, by default, harder. (Probably the larger problem is that people don't make strategies because they don't understand the building blocks of those strategies. Stats, effects, etc. And many monsters die too fast for it to matter.)

Goblin/Dodore is nothing but ScourgeII>WaterII>Quick Nock spam for the entire duration of the fight, every time we've done it. It takes off such noticeable chunks you'd be stupid not to. Is there supposed to be some kind of trick to it that makes it complicated or something?

It's also the best way to break body parts by boosting the damage of the appropriate WS's, which we typically do for for all the encounters. I don't see how double damage for the third trigger is anything less than rape. I agree it could use some kind of flashier close for effect, but double damage is double damage.

[edit] Didn't mean to derail, please continue discussing how an auction house will save the game.

Well now you are just being an ass, but hey you knew that already when you decided to write that. AH has it's flaws, but so do market wards. I think it's only natural that people choose an AH, because:
    - The market wards didn't really make an excellent first impression
    - Most FF14 players have played FF11, and found AH proly quite okay

I think by just voting an AH, we guarantee that SE will actually do something about it quickly. Whether it's the improved AH, improved market wards or a totally new system. They obviously made this poll so they would get quick results of what people want.

It's not the actual results, treat it as a survey.

Yeah, I was thinking of it as just a small sample of what the actual results may be, give or take a few percent on each answer. Maybe someone with some more knowledge of statistics could chime in regarding the comparison?

I'm curious as to how similar those numbers likely are to the actual results, or if they don't really mean anything. If they are similar, however, I can't say I'm disappointed with how it's going.

They probably don't mean anything if they're not a sample with relatively the same distribution as the players who took the original survey. Chances are it's horribly skewed to just the subset that took that survey (i.e. Core people, or whoever it is those numbers are from).

Haven't tried enough BR's to really contribute, but they're so damn clunky and STOPS you from fighting while you wait to use it. I guess if you got used to it, it would work great but for people that are doing pugs it's just annoying. Make it so you que up and can still fight and you're golden. The dmg boost is awesome especially for breaking parts. If sp was different and you WANTED to fight harder mobs I'm sure the system would own. But for now killing blue mobs 10000000 times over it's kinda worthless.

I would like to see a video of people doing it consistently (as in, with the same consistency of skillchains in FFXI).

I tried it with two friends (on TS) repeatedly in OB, and it would not work at all (like 2 successes in 20 tries). The reason why I don't do it isn't "ignorance by the community"; it's because we ended up standing around with our dicks in our hands making pretty flashes but not actually doing anything. So if there's some sort of trick that actually makes it reliable, I'd like to hear it. (This is not sarcasm.)

You shouldn't say something doesn't work or is broken when the last time you tried was 3 months ago in beta...... They are not that hard to pull off. I also disagree with Celaras saying the community is stupid for not using them. At this point there is no damn reason to use them besides on the NMs. I think everyone will agree that for SP, killing blue mobs that die within seconds is the way to go for the best sp. I wish it was not the case, I would rather be killing harder stuff and using BRs, but it is just not worth it right now.

And I'm rather sad with these forums anymore. Every single thread turns into the same bitch fest about AH, economy, or some other crap that we are all tired of hearing about. Never thought I would say this, but core at least sticks to the topic and discusses the topic. They have several different posts with people working on the "poem" and trying to figure out the meaning behind it (if there even is one) rather than 7 pages of the same people bitching back and fourth about what you should have chose on the survey. I'm not even really sure how you can bitch about what other people put, its a survey, its for personal opinions, and guess what, not everyone thinks and wants the same thing.
