Most of the time, you can still say the '20s and be talking about the 1920s. I'm pretty sure make and model will determine something. For example, a '67 Mustang is universally understood as the 1967 model. In 40 years, however, they may not even make the Mustang anymore. If they did, they would probably say the 1967 Mustang.
Never heard anyone say "The '11" or "The oh-11". Most of the time they say the "2011 model".
Sure as hell beats "Nineteen-ought-six".
