    Yes, 50 grand is plenty there, considering most of the folks there make far less. The closest ive been as far as living to Chicago is in St Louis back in 2000-2004, which is one Mississippi river hop away from Illinois and I made about 25k more than you did at the time, and I was on a fucking niiiiiiiiiiiice spread and lived far far beyond my needs and did so very comfortably. So yeah you are goddamn gold with that.

    it's just too damn cold in the winter and too damn hot in the summer for me here, I would rather have the food/culture/music offerings in philly or NYC and gain the warmer weather... although to be fair, you get similar quality entertainment and eats here for a much lower cost of living
