    ePsxe problem

    Hey guys, I'm currently re-playing FFIX on epsxe and I've been having this problem since yesterday all of a sudden: Every time I go into the menu or the battle menu appears the game slows waaay down, anyone know whats going on? Its been working fine untill now and i'm about 10 hours in. I didnt change ANY of the settings either.

    goddamn is everyone re-playing FFIX again? I have a question as well, can I use my psp's save file in ePSX?

    If you're using a PAL version, you need a patch. Even if you're not, with ePsxe using the defaults is rarely the correct thing to do. Most games will require a bit of tuning at least your graphics plugin to account for any hacks and tricks the publishers may have used. If you google for e.g. "ff9 epsxe config" you'll probably find a whole host of forum posts where people list the best performing configurations they've found.

    Also Ragnell, what emulator are you using on your PSP? Take a look at this page and just do everything there in reverse!

    A simple fix that usually works for all Final Fantasy games on epsxe is to turn up your off-screen drawing. For 8 and 9, typically turn this up to AT LEAST 2, and for 7 minimum of 3. Also, if your video card allows, try to use the openGL driver, your performance will be a lot better.

    I doubt it has anything to do with configuartion on account that I have been playing it for about 10 hours with pretty much everything set on high :/ I even set everything as low as it can go just for laughs but it still happens. It ONLY happens with FFIX to and its only in the menu or when the battle menu appears. And its been working fine up until now so like..WTF?! lol
