on Verizon? Lol mine always cuts out on my moto droid. I could be wrong. if thats true I need to call them up and ask WTF is up with mine.

Iv taken pics when talking and the GPS does not find the location, web browser wont load. I mean maybe its just me, but I no someone else with a droid who is the same way. I asked him when he got his a few months after mine because it sorta did bug me at the start.

edit: load maps, still thinks I am at my house, when I am 6 miles away.

Well, to be fair, pretty much every other smartphone on their network faces those same limitations. The exception being the HTC Thunderbolt, when it actually comes out, when connected to LTE in the... "38 markets and 60 airports" that actually have Verizon LTE coverage in the US thus far.

Again, just a tradeoff. CDMA data is generally faster when you are using it, so there is that.

Actually CDMA is technically a slower network. Under equal congestion you will be faster on ATT than Verizon.

lol cases wont fit properly on the CDMA version of the iPhone... GG Apple, I love my iPhone but thats just stupid. Current bumpers, Otterboxes, nothing will fit the new iPhone cuz of the relocated mute toggle switch and volume buttons

Apple dude1: "How can we make more money?"
Apple dude2: "Well Verizon has 90 million customers, right?:
    Apple dude1: "good idea!"
Apple dude2: "oh and lets make it where you need to rebuy everything for the phone"
    Apple dude1: "brilliant!"

So its Pay ETF, Buy new phone, lock into a new two year contract, and then even if you already own it you need to re-buy your case ~_~ lol

It's an Apple product...shouldn't surprise anyone.

Ah, yep, you're right, GSM pulled ahead for the last gen. Prior to 3G it was the other way around.

With ATT it seems to be a choice between having speed or going with Verizon for reception.

I remember way back when I was getting my first cell phone I went with ATT since I was a long subscriber with their land line service and loved it. I went home with it tried to activate but in the end had no reception so I took the phone back. Went with Verizon and I've never had any issues ever since.

The new iPhone 4 will support the CDMA technology that Verizon has

Verizon and ATT services are both amazing here. I won't be paying an ETF to switch. I was on verizon until the 3G came out, at that point in time there was nothing really comparable to the iphone from verizon. However when my plan is up this time (got iphone4 on release), I'll be able to go back to their service.

Only time I've ever dropped a call in the 10 years of cingular/att was when I had a blackberry curve. Went through 3 of them before switching to a blackberry 8820 and never had a dropped call again. I live in rural ass kentucky. As with most things in life, shit's situational.

If you have an iPhone 4, why would you be switching to a Verizon one anyways? Chances are you aren't eligible for an upgrade. And if you're spending the dough for an upgrade fee, which is a bit superfluous anyways, why would you care about a $30 case? We all knew the GSM > CDMA switch would mean new technology.

And Tyche speaks the truth. Everyone blows shit outta proportion. "OMG I DROPPED A CALL, APPLE SUX." Shit's situational, much like Byrnie's.

Either way I agree with other posters. Almost more worth it to wait till the new gen iPhones. 4G networks are in the works (The real ones) and could be avail by fall/spring?

Where do you live? You're comparing a 400 mile distance to a < 50 mile distance. That's not a very good test of speed, but more of coverage.

my AT&T 3g speeds rape your verizon speeds (525KB/s.. KiloBYTES, upstream around 250KB/s)

You bastard. I get nice speed in harpersville which is about 20 minutes away and also is very rural. Difference between here and harpersville is that hville is 20 minutes closer to birmingham. Even though they have about 1/10th the population we do they get working service :/

I did both of those tests at my house and I actually have better signal from att than vzw lol. Att's network just doesn't work here ;.;. The distances are determined from the public ips so vzw has my data going to georgia and att I think pipes me through one of the carolinas I think.
