I'm of the camp that thinks that the truth often matters, but not always. Truth is especially important depending on context, say an academic discussion. But i draw a distinction between academics and politics.

So I enjoy listening to Democrats denouncing republicans to push their own agenda on this issue, then I enjoy Republicans pretending to be the scapegoats and talking about how evil the Democrats are for pushing their agenda on the issue....while they use the issue to push their own agenda right back at them. If he had done what he did with power tools or a knife, I would have been amazed...and believed him to be a ninja.

Seriously, its not like he crept into her home and assassinated her in the dead of night with a gun, where we can say "oh he could have used anything to kill her". There were a lot of people around, people even jumped him while he had a gun, with a knife he might have been able to take down...1-2 people closest to him. This guy isnt a green beret.
