When I used to play, it wasn't that I would eat so much all the time, but the food that I did eat was fucking horrible, i.e., usually fast food / processed food shit since I didn't want to take the time to actually make anything.

    And the heavy drinking.

a loss is a loss, whether its 1 lb or 500 lbs, im happy for the both of them and i hope they continue with a healthier lifestyle.

im glad i didnt have to put up with the negativity i keep hearing about, but im not going to judge them based on a few bad BG background checks that didnt even end up in that section, but more so on their goals and how far they're gonna keep going.

narse seemed pretty cool on vent though. byo was like my little rukenshin style cheerleader. if you guys read this and need any help with nutrition or anything, let me know!

and no byo, stop offering me relic accounts to come back to the game !

This. They both look a lot better than when they started and even if they don't lose that much more even losing a little is still better. Healthy 100%? No, but just like picking a penny off the ground, every little bit helps.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Don't get me wrong, I do agree, and hope she's continuing to lose weight. It's just hard to sympathize when she seemed so lazy on the show compared to everyone else and was like arguing with the trainers n' stuff.

This. Only on episode 3 and I'm already tired of listening to her complain/make excuses.

Edit: Oh wow I only had to watch 3

I was one of those mindless grazing type when I played. Plus attending LS events I opted for fast food 99% of the time out of convienice and laziness. I got big. I stopped couple years ago and focused on me. Friends still use my account but I no longer play.

I have a question, are obese people actually happy being you know obese? It's not really difficult to lose weight.
Would it be so wrong if they did?

I love when people say it's easy to lose weight. I peaked out at around 350lbs during my time playing on FFXI. Too much fast food, too much beer and no exersize. I've now lost 170lbs and it's taken me 2 years of hard graft. It's not as easy as saying "eat less and exersize more", it's a complete change in lifestyle and an emotional fucking rollercoaster.

I went through stages of being hospitalised because i was basically killing myself because of my weight loss programme. You get into a mindframe where you are scared to take any calories on at all. I went through a 3 month stage of taking on no more than 200 calories a day and still exersizing 5 days a week for 2 hours. I passed out in the gym twice and the second time i had to be rushed to hospital directly from the gym. You get so emotionally fucked up that rationality goes right out the window and it becomes all-encompassing. It takes over every aspect of your life.

Yes, i imagine for a smaller person, losing the occasional 5 or 10lbs here and there would be a case of eating a little less and exersizing more because they are already in the correct mindset. When you have a massive amount of weight to lose it becomes a completely different kettle of fish.

So yeah, carry on saying how easy it is to lose weight all you like - But until you have been put in the situation you will have no fucking idea.

I'm sorry to hear that you found weight loss to be too difficult emotionally to do in a healthy way. your blog is an interesting look at how hard it can be for some people. however, it sounds like you approached it in an extremely unhealthy manner and it's not surprising that happened to you. I hope you've sought out therapy and a nutritionist at least, and dropped the rest of the weight in a healthy and emotionally sound way.

and milkster is right, with a proper support system and reasonable expectations it's not that hard to lose weight. humans aren't made to be 350 pounds of fat.

Yeah, no doubt i approached it in completely the wrong way, but the point still stands - To lose 150lbs+ is still gonna take a hell of alot of focus and hard work. It's never going to be "easy".

Also - I lost all that weight for you, Tyven.

Edit: Forgot to mention - I didn't get any help from a nutritionist until I was around 210lbs I think? It helped me lose the last 30lbs so much more healthily and sensibly. If I had to go through that shit again i agree, it would be shit loads easier losing with the proper support and advice.

It is definitely not easy to lose weight. Just before I started playing FF11 I injured my back training in martial arts. I was supposed to go to the World Savate Championships but wasn't able to due to the injury. I then spent the next two years sitting around playing FF11, eating fast food, and putting on 15lbs. My weight didn't budge for years, even though all I wanted was to take off 15lbs. Fortunately, I did eventually get back down, mostly due to a wedding weight loss plan also, but it was very, very hard. I still tend to gain a few pounds every winter but fortunately they disappear when I turn off my computer and go outside and run.

It's supposedly easier to lose weight if you were in good shape and fairly athletic before you gained weight so I can't imagine what it is like to lose weight for someone who has been fat their entire lives.

Going to start out by saying if my post seems mean its not meant to be.

I was in the same boat as you about 3 years back(not as bad but still i hated my weight) I hovered just under 240 when I was 18~19 in college, between all the crap food you got there and beer(2-3 days a week at least) and playing FFXI for like 6+ hours a day I hit that.

The real thing that was holding me at that weight was that I allowed myself to keep doing crap like that and did not ask for any help. I lost some weight at times 200lbs because I did eat almost nothing(as we all no unhealthy lol) real thing though is that all you need to do is ask for some help.

I started to run 2-3 days a week with a friend, I came to BG for food health(that fitness thread is very nice ask for help and you almost always get a PM or a post fairly fast)

When I lost weight and was ready for the gym I did the same thing asked a few friends to go to the gym with me. Got my workout started(again thanks to BG fitness lol)

I do my best to help people too now. some of my friends ask me for help and I gladly will do all I can for them.

If you are really over weight you need more then just willpower you are right, get HELP. Get friends to hit you on the head if you buy a 5lb steak. Find the ones that are in crazy shape and ask for help(most like that, helps their ego) Yes you need to want it but after seeing what you can do in just a few months it drives you more.

Moral of this long ass post dont try and do it yourself.

Really that was not as mean at all lol.

You're all DRG haters. Say you make 1m an hour. That's 150-180 hours just to pay for the alexandrite for a Ryunohige. That alone almost covers 30min of exercise a day for a year plus the total of a few hours of reading needed to know a diet in the ballpark of healthy, but noone should even need a full year to lose that much weight. I don't even have to bring up the time needed to actually find 30k alexandrite and do all the assaults, tokens and trophies to show that from an efficiency perspective she's several times a better pick than any ffxi-casual thin girl.

Sol, where the hell is Vince? I need some synths.
