As for hearing the difference inflac, I cannot agree. The times are so few and far that it is not worth shit for listening.

My sister got me these for christmas because she knew my previous pair were showing copper wire, but still worked so I refused to buy new ones

This is the only style of headphones I like so it was a great gift, I love her. Yeah lolskullcandy and w/e but the only argument people have against skullcandy is that they're over priced. They're still pretty good headphones. I love mine. These ones are really comfortable to wear too. Normally if I'm listening to music for more than like half an hour with any other kind of headphones, over/around back/earbuds/etc my ears start to hurt (either inner ear or ear cartilage) but not with these so there's that.

Price is not a factor in complaining about quality. Yes there is such a thing as 'bang for buck' but with skullcandy you can buy better shit for cheaper. I mean fuck, how much are portapros these days?

I bet you guys dl 320kbps songs only too. Or whatever the kbps is best. I'll take my buds where I can't even hear anything with them in and no music on and love it.

Beats are around what I'm willing to spend. My earbuds were like 90. They were great, actually. Like I said the treb was a bit too much for me but not a bad deal, I was happy with them.

Pretty sure akg cans come with lifetime tee on them too.
Don't want earbuds. Going to keep my Bose for earbud purposes. I want a legit set now. Also, speak English.

i don't really care if it ALTERS the sound as long as it doesn't sound BAD. I'm not sure i'm really discerning enough yet to consider sound integrity

    Cans = Studio Quality Headphones/Stereophones
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headphone_amplifier

When you buy new cans they sound great but they are not perfect. You play them for hours on end to wear them in. The sound gets richer and fuller.
AKG studio stereophones come with a lifetime warranty last time I checked.

The problem with cans, mp3 players and laptops work for them, but they do not have enough power to put the driver to use. A portable amp that takes a double a to a 9 volt battery puts them where they should be. I have an old cmoy amp I built back in the day. Still works just well. You can out one together yourself or buy an amp for $20 on amazon.

what he means is a process called burning in a pair of cans. basically, the idea is that the longer a pair of high quality headphones are in use, the richer and fuller their sound becomes. it's really a matter of opinion as to whether this happens or not; imo it does and it's noticible, but not over a 24 hour period. I'm talking like 100 hours or more.

sounds like a decent budget for a lovely pair of midrange cans, here are a few suggestions. none of these will give you any issues with feedback, even at high volumes. they're all quality enough to bypass the issues of cheap shit like skullcandy, they look fucking sexy, and they're all on sale I believe for amazing prices right now. the real difference between them is their strengths; each of these excells at different kinds of music and different ranges of sound.

    http://www.amazon.com/Ultrasone-HFI-...4636761&sr=1-4
I don't automatically think of ultrasones when making suggestions but I just got these myself, they're ridiculously on sale atm too. they have a rich bass and don't weaken in midrange like the 780s do, excellent quality for the price, although they look like shit. I got these specifically for electronic music.

    http://www.amazon.com/AKG-K702-REFER...4636939&sr=1-2
this is the pair I would really recommend tbh, they are probably the best all-around midrange cans on the market right now. DO NOT GET THE 701s THEY HAVE CABLE ISSUES, only get the 702s. nothing is more comfortable than a pair of akgs; the pads are pretty thick on these as well. I'm very biased towards akgs since I've had the best experience with them, they're strongest in acoustics and strings.

    http://www.amazon.com/Grado-Prestige...4637157&sr=1-5
grados have a bright but mellow sound, these are their most bassy within your budget. grados are best for rock and similar genres. they're fantastic, but you might want to replace the pads with plush or leather. I personally don't like foam, even though it's an element of the can's mechanic. grados shine the most in their 500-1k line of cans, but these are by far the best for rock etc.

    hope this helps

I get my audio source from the best places. First a cd is placed into a 1990 sony cd player with a chopstick sticking out of the end of the speaker. The chopstick vibrates and the tip of the stick etches squiggles into a piece of clay at the end. When the song is complete the clay is put into a wind tunnel where the air perturbations are recorded on a silk cloth which was weaved during a full moon by 13 monks. The cloth is then ingested by an asian lemur where it is digested and then expelled on the third day into the final state where it is ready to be uploaded.
