THE BUZZ: Gamers that preorder Saints Row: The Third on Steam are in for a bonus treat courtesy of Valve. According to the official Team Fortress website, preordering Saints Row: The Third will unlock three special items to outfit your Heavy with. The post has the details:
In honor of the meticulously researched, true-to-life events dramatized in the educational video game Saints Row: The Third, we visited the library and came up with three equally historically accurate Heavy items for those of you who pre-order: a faithful recreation of the ceremonial dress of General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev. Note the dedication to mirroring every historical detail, from Gorbachev’s signature diamond-encrusted lucha libra mask to his cartoonishly oversized boxing gloves to the fleur-de-lis badge given to all former heavyweight champions, all of which Gorbachev famously wore to accept the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990.

EGM’s TAKE: With that post I can only assume that all the requests for Half-Life 3 has driven Valve mad. Regardless, the entire staff at Bellevue Washington is in fact insane or if they’ve created a time machine to alter historical events as they see fit, this is a cool little easter egg of a bonus. The outfit may not sway anyone that can’t deal with Saints Row’s sophomoric attitude, but for those that were on the fence about which version to get, now have a reason to lean. Bonus outfits for Team Fortress are nothing new, but its a great trend that adds small perks to dedicated PC gamers. Now Valve how about Half-Life 3?

Japanese version will be censored

According to a post on Game Informer yesterday, THQ had to do a little digital scrubbing to make the Japanese release of Saints Row the Third more palatable and acceptable to that country’s accepted code of morals and decency.

In what way, you ask? Apparently the “Penetrator” weapon, which we lovingly refer to as the “dildo bat,” will have its “veins and physics” removed in the Japanese version, said an anonymous THQ representative to Game Informer.

Meaning, for once, the Japanese version of a game will be less perverted than other versions.

According to the post, “depiction of genital parts” are prohibited in Japan. And even though the Penetrator is clearly a three-foot-long dildo and not a genital part, it’s too much, TOO FAR.

I decided to pick it up for PC and the game looks and plays amazing. It seems like ATI cards may have some performance issues (possibly driver related) but other than that I've had nothing but good experiences with the game. Only put a few hours into it so far though, busy with work and other stuff. I think they did a really great job, I can't wait until I can put more time in after work tonight.

Playing on Hard difficulty and the challenge is good. I'm liking the game, however, just wish there was an easier way to get rid of notoriety? Not sure what it is called, but whenever I get three stars, takes me a while to loose them all.

Accurate as FUCK, I even stopped playing Skyrim since I got this, Jesus I cant get enough, I LOVE the menu system, everything right on your phone, I love the unlocks, The vehicles, the Garage has been in MUCH improved, just SO much shit I love.

Although one annoyance is Acess crib is EVERYWHERE and the area for opening doors is so small, they can change that with a update though, very minor, they just need to increase the area for the action button

After you Kill the French Guy, You go to his funeral. You're then attacked on the bridge by the Masked fella with Rocket Launchers. If you notice one of the Saints cars is a Hearse.

I'm so mayad if he really is dead, But I'm almost positive he's confirmed as a Zombie homie
