It's more like a secret scene than a secret ending. I'm super excited about versus XIII, some of the interviews with the dev team said that they wanted to go back to their roots in a way on this one. They're bring back airships, big environments, and make everything as seamless as possible. The site manager guy over at that FF website has a nice collection of what we know about versus too: http://www.finalfantasy-fxn.net/boar...006-Present%29
Whoever thought about putting a fragment in slot machines should be shot1.5k spins this run, probably 3k~ total, and still no lucky coin. It's the last fragment I need QQ
Oh fml, I have the worst luck ever when it comes to anything hazard related![]()
Double posting for a reason, apparently we're getting a FFXIII-2 demo on the 10th: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/...a-goes-beyond/
That's a smart choice to boost the sales in the west.
If you don't hate DLC and/or FFXIII this game seems to have no real flaws and deserves to sell well.
FIRST english trailer--well, that I've seen anyway. Prepare for KUPO!

http://www.ff-xiii.net/With Final Fantasy XIII-2's english release around the corner reviews are beginning to pop up! The first english review comes from the Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) which awards the game a 9.0/10. Said review mentions that
Quote: FFXIII-2 repairs almost every problem with Final Fantasy XIII, delivering an experience that feels like what that original game should have been...If your faith in Final Fantasy has been damaged by past disappointment, playing FFXIII-2 will restore your excitement for the franchise's future
Good start it seems.
Ending is still wtf/rage worthy.
Well, I'll be pissed if it's paid for DLC, but if it turns into another game that's even better than XIII-2 as it is to XIII I'd be pretty happy. Despite being totally different to XIII I quite like the story too and if they brought back some of the old characters for a third game it would be pretty awesome.
Spoiler: show
thats a moot point really..
when you pick up a game, an RPG for example.. , do you get to play the ending first and decide whether you like it based on that? no. Similarly when you buy a book to read, do you base your experience of the book by STARTING the book on the last chapter and then reading the rest? neither.
most people play a game for the game, and not for the ending.. so its pretty fair to say that assuming we know the ending sucks, the game can still be good.
Even that's debatable.
i think that adds to my point as well. playing a video game is a lot different from watching it - i think the only thing thats the same is the cutscenes you get (but with the ability to choose which path you take, it differs). fact of the matter is that most people watching the streams don't know a single word of japanese.
ever watched a french movie not knowing any french and decided that you were qualified to pass judgment on its script? the visual information may be there, but if you don't know the context, its as good as not knowing at all - these people end up judging based on an incomplete experience which they knowingly place themselves in.
I played every FF from 8 onwards in Japanese before playing it in English. Initially my Japanese was terrible, but as it gradually got better i actually knew what the story was talking about when I played it. But even now, I cannot confidently say I fully understand the games when I play them because there are so many technicalities which you need a very high level of understanding of the language to get - same goes for English version really.
Games are no longer perfectly within the knowledge of a 12 year old's vocabulary or abstract knowledge. There are words, terms and concepts used that even I don't get from time to time. Call it being bombastic, but if you're even remotely familiar with your traditional English fantasy novel, that kind of stuff is to be expected.
And if you can't even get it in your own language, i don't think it'd make sense for one to believe you can do it in Japanese.
I'd be glad if there's more to play sooner than 2 years down the road. Of course the entry price can't be too steep.
I cba to play/buy DLC that isn't substantial in content. But I like DLC that is, especially if they manage to make it not seem like filler. RE5 mansion DLC (short but great otherwise), Bioshock2 campaign DLC, GTAIV DLC etc. I have absolutely nothing against them, quite the opposite.
