I actually found that hilarious.
I actually found that hilarious.
That scene was really cute, especially the chocobo chick mimicking Vanille's "ciao" pose.
You know you guys can hate on Vanille all you want, but she wasn't near as bad as that bitch Lymle from Star Ocean, kaaaaay?
So? His weapons have the largest stats in the game specifically to balance that out.
Also, I almost always despise the annoying, bubbly, happy-go-lucky girl characters (Rikku, Selphie, etc.), but I <3'd Vanille. I thoroughly enjoyed all of her comic-relief scenes like the one in question.
I actually liked Vanille, Hope just whined too much for my liking. I'd like harder bosses and possibly harder endgame, XIII was constantly on easy mode. I only ever had trouble with mission 55 and that was because i was under-leveled and waiting for death to pop.
So you never got Game Over once?
Not saying it's the case for you necessarily but a lot of the people I've spoken to who claimed it was too easy wiped a lot; just because they didn't have to arbitrarily repeat 15 minutes of dungeon, considered it easy.
Not getting a single game over in this game sounds like complete BS. Gatlin Gun in chapter 7, to name one, got everyone at some point.
By "not difficult" they probably mean "not tedious" since you don't have to reload and reach the same spot where you died if that happens.
I got game over occasionally, but it was more of a made a mistake/making a strategy than due to the games difficulty. I honestly didn't find anything hard besides misson 55 and the Long Gui(which now i can do in about 4 minutes with ease)
So, it was hard.
I never got game over once because I always chose Retry.
lol
lol
It depends what your definiton of hard is. If you mean "OMG WTF THIS BOSS IS IMPOSSIBLE 50 TRIES AND I STILL CANT BEAT HIM" Then no. If you mean die once or twice figuring out what to do, then yes.
I fail... I game overed quite a bit
Relative to past RPG's/past FF's, FFXIII was hard. Relative to the ultra hardcore games(ninja gaiden?)/what people perceive to be hard, it wasn't.
It had level caps and that, by itself, made it more difficult than most RPGs in existence.
If you tried to do everything you could without burning through the story and beating the game, it was difficult. After that, it's just a matter of grinding like everything else.
Dropping this from the finalfantasy-xiii.net forums here:

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/201...g_get_d_style/Dengeki PlayStation has a two page spread on final Fantasy XIII-2 this week, complete with a one page interview with producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama. Here's a bit of what they say:
* XIII-2's story begins in Gran Pulse after the ending of XIII.
* The story will feel like it expands out from the after story that was included in the booklet with Xbox 360's Final Fantasy XIII International.
* Outside of Lightning, other characters will appear in the game in unexpected forms. Some will see major changes.
* XIII-2 is a full sequel. You'll learn some of the things that took place in the background scenes of XIII.
* The story will be more dark and mysterious than XIII's.
* The story will focus on the goddess Etro.
* The game will not have the pop feel of Final Fantasy X-2 (I think this means no dancing Lightning booooo)
* The battle system will be an evolved form of XIII's ATB system.
* They're listening to opinions both inside and outside of Square Enix and from outside of Japan regarding characters, story and interface.
* There may be a difficulty setting.
