Sweet, so saving is via pause menu.
But wait, I do recall seeing it, in the demo, but it was greyed out.
Sorry for seeming like a newbie lol, but can we save in the demo or is it disabled? Or can we only save in "certain" locations i.e. not the monster area but where all the NPCs are hanging out?
Returning Music is great. SNOW'S THEME GOGOGOGO /pray
At least Chocolina isn't recruitable and doesn't attack monsters with her butt <_<
<3 chocolina.
After complete the demo, i saw chocobos race... Hope we get "Gold saucer" back :3
Oh didn't know they greyed it out in the demo sorry. Autosave usually saves before big fights and w/e, assuming they didn't cancel that too.
Snow's theme is in there yes.Returning Music is great. SNOW'S THEME GOGOGOGO /pray
As for Dust to Dust, not to disappoint Nevex, but it doesn't play when you enter Oerba the first time (tried if I could trigger it, but no dice), huge fail from SE, that music belongs there imo. However where they do use it is good =)
And not to disappoint supercoco, but the "Gold Saucer" is pretty shit imo. It has chocobo races and shit ass slot machines and nothing else. I hope to god SE adds some DLC minigames (considering the lack of content in the zone, preferably some free), because the area pretty much blows as it is.
I believe Appie is the person who imported and completed the game in 2 days, or at least I know he has played the whole game already.
An unfortunate side effect of listening to fans. shitty minigames.
Elaborate on this, what I understand reading this post satisfaction would have eluded you either way.
Had they chosen to not implement any mini-games, would you have complained?
That they did include them, you're pissed because they listened to the fans? You're implying mini-games in general are shit, or is it that the fans (including you) suggested shitty mini-games (where btw)?
I'm not pissed, and I wouldn't have complained lol. You betcha its part of the FF tradishuns bitching which is why they were implemented along with everything else.
I guess nonshitty minigames like that exist in some plane of existence, I don't see the value of implementing them tho.
The demo does Autosave and it forces you to create a savefile before starting. I wonder if they're planning to have some extras unlocked if you have a demo save file. I've noticed that there's a file in both Save Data and Game Data so who knows... they would've announced something by now though so it's probably just to waste space on my HDD.
Finished the demo yesterday. Spent some extra time leveling up/infusing mobs, which seemed like it will be more of a grind than CP. Some thoughts:
- FFS why can't you get that item sphere right in the center of the beginning area? I spent like 5 minutes jumping/moogling to no avail.
- Noel seems like he won't be completely annoying, which is a good sign. Also a little put off by Mog's voice. (Still don't get the Hope/Vanille hatred, Snow pissed me off the most.)
- The Mog Clock isn't as bad as I thought it would be, although it always seemed to zap mobs at me right when I needed to do something else. Battles are much improved, paradigm shifts seem faster and I really like the cross and wide tuning for each paradigm.
- The two missions were pretty easy, but I like that there will be a variety in types of missions, unlike the Cie'th stone "kill dis mob" missions.
- Never played any of the Pokemon games (I no rite) but I like the mob and paradigm pack system. It's nice you can buy the basic components for advancing them through the Crystarium. I had a Hoplite COM that was completely broken. Was really hoping I'd find a SYN mob in the demo though.
- I didn't like the Crystarium for Noel and Serah, I felt very constrained in the demo by having to choose which roles and bonuses. But like others have said, you'll probably max out all the roles if you get all the fragments anyway.
- The QTEs felt tacked on, didn't like them at all. I can see myself retrying a bunch of fights to get perfect scores, but I did that on any boss I didn't 5-star anyway, so meh.
- The Temporal Rift part was okay, I'm guessing they tie it in with the story but it seemed arbitrary to me.
FFXIII didn't have autosave and you could easily retry any battle so no, that's not the point at all. Most likely they simply cut this part from the main game and didn't bother to remove the feature for a demo.
And you can't get all treasure chests. There are some areas that you can't even explore because they're blocked off. You'll either need better support abilities or you can check those areas after you defeat Atlas.
Hehe it's actually no way like Pokemon, but we draw comparisons to it on a very basic level, which is just basically obtaining new monsters and using them in your team. The meta-game of Pokemon gets extremely more complex than this but we won't go about it from here.Never played any of the Pokemon games (I no rite)
Yeh I commented on this too, earlier. I don't mind them but it just means I have to pay a little more attention, and although now I notice the animations on screen freeze during QTE I still find it disruptive.- The QTEs felt tacked on, didn't like them at all.

I did wonder though, were the chars over powered in the demo for demo purposes in terms of "game progress"? i.e. FFXIII's demo had Lightning with 3 bars, cure and fire spells, but no role stuff was implemented at the time. Whereas the demo in FFXIII-2 gave us tons of stuff to play with, 3 roles and stuff is unlocked, but I suppose it's suppose to be a taste of power to lure you into the game.
