Calling ign giving it a 9.0+ since they are releasing the review this friday when that never happens unless the game is given a 9.0+. Also odd since SE usually has an embargo preventing early reviews

I've decided to let my friend buy it on Day 1, and then I'll go play/watch him play at his, and steal/borrow the game off him once it's beat. And then wait 6 months to buy a cheap copy.

Soundtrack if you want it otherwise not really. Have a buddy at BB snagging me the preorder book from there. Im pretty sure the extra content bonuses will be available as dlc sometime after release seeing as how they are suppose to be doing a lot of dlc.

DLC stuff is not version-dependent. Collector's is a different box, OST sample, artbook, postcards and poster. Crystall Edition gets full OST plus a t-shit.

Of course they do. But I know a lot of those things are true also and some people might care about them. I can't say whether all of it is true though.

I think the US CE gets the full OST. According to Amazon:
"Collector's Edition contents: Special digipack packaging, including slipcase; 4-disc Official Soundtrack; Contents of concept art book, bound directly into the packaging"

Looks like XIII-2 will have good gameplay but a terrible story (from early reviews), so if you're cool with that pick it up. Lots of side quests, gambling, monster collecting, and I think Chocobo Racing or something (from a preview clip)?

I was going to buy this to try it out, as I enjoyed FF13 but not as much as I would have had it not been so linear etc etc. Now after seeing all the DLC shit for this game, I can say I won't be buying it till it's either all bundled together a year from now..or not at all. Same reason I didn't buy Arkham City even though I loved Arkham Asylum..i'm not going to purchase an incomplete game for 60 of my fucking dollars.

I heard that beating Lightning, you don't get her, really. I heard you get an accessory (possibly monster accessory?) that replaces whichever monster with Lightning. Thus, you can have her as whatever role you please. But I'm not sure if that's true.

We're not getting the weapons DLC afaik (or they are not day 1), but that's a fair point.
