There were some hints of a possible Hope and Vanille relationship in FFXIII, it might become a reality now since they'd be the same age if she comes back.

Meh. I don't care how much he changed in the story. To me, he was still the little brat that was causing problems for my least favorite character in Snow.

Hope was one of my favourites after he got over his deal with Snow (incidentally the only character I still disliked by the end of the game). After Alexander he was fine and I was impressed by how much he grew up.

Apart from Snow (who did manage to grow, but was still annoying) all characters changed pretty nicely and grew up. If Vanille's voice didn't grate on everyone so much that they could see her personality a bit more, even she grew considerably.

New XIII-2 stuff has me excited, I always look forward to sequels that manage to fix what was wrong with the original.

A pretty cool thing that FFXIII did was developing the characters even through their battle quotes.

Remember Lightning near the beginning of the game when she's like "Just stay out of my way!" during battles? She doesn't say that anymore when she starts opening up.

Same deal with Hope starting to sound more brave later in the game when he gets over his Oedipus complex.

Snow sounded pretty cool during battles in chapter 10 because he doesn't spout his "hero" stuff during that particular chapter (when he's "depressed" about Serah's focus), too bad that didn't last long.

I preferred the Sazh/Vanille banter when it was just those two.

I really didn't expect to like that style of character, but my favorite was Vanille... I really hope she comes back.

I really liked Sazh and Vanille together, especially during the Eidolon festival. Nice to see people interact without being overwhelmed by hormones.

Friend at e3 played the demo and he said combat is basically the same still. I'll try to get more info out of him but he was pretty disappointed.
