Should I consider myself lucky that I have never be disappointed by a single SE title so far?
The only one I truly dislike is FFXIV and I knew there was something very wrong about that game as soon as it was revealed so I didn't get hyped for that one lol.
Damn I kinda liked the linear-tunnel-interactive-movie style of FF13. So relaxing and mindless to play after thinking all day at work.
I liked XIII and from what ive seen I think XIII-2 will be even better, I haven't been omg this sucks about any other FF game besides XIV either, hell I liked X2 (Granted I loved X so anything to extend or involving that world and characters I ate up) I think it's mostly because I enjoy the games as a whole and have grown up with them since FF 1, I enjoy the music, stories, atmoshpere and familiar elements all, so if a particular entry is lacking in one of those areas I still enjoy the other aspects of the game. Not a fanboy of SE by any means I can easily pick out issues with different titles but they haven't had a negative impact so great that it makes me dislike any of the games overall.

You at the booth yet? Gamespot just went by people playing 13-2. Seems really crowded near the game.
This has gotten me genuinely excited for XIII-2. It's once again going the way of the unconventional. I think a lot of times they have radical ideas for FF but they get thrown out simply because they don't wanna do anything too risky in the main lineage.
Multiple endings, Serah's beastmasterness (and the monsters all seem to have Full ATB abilities :D), and the whole decision making thing... they're all excellent ideas that I think will turn out pretty well in the game.
Interestingly, all are concepts that they've tried in various forms in FFX-2. Multiple endings was in X-2 but not really multiple in the sense but complete.. Creature Create in the Int'l version allowed u to train monsters and use them in battles (tho this seems different), and decision making existed (choose between New Yevon and Youth League) but was very few and far between.
I don't think old characters will start off with whatever was learnt in XIII cos they should no longer be l'Cie. However, for Lightning's case, she might still actually be a l'Cie of the Goddess herself and be granted these powers. The same is probably true for Noel, because he appears to be an 'outsider' to the world, or at least to Cocoon. Serah, well, it could be Manadrive technology or the moogle at work.. alternatively she might also have become a l'Cie for Etro which doesnt necessarily have to be represented by a mark or the same mark. The l'Cie marks used in XIII were to represent l'Cie of Lindzei and Pulse.
Nope. Still not excited. Sounds all well and good. Multiple endings, an interesting plot, an actual sequel that doesn't involve three girls running around with dress spheres (awesome battle, hated the story, deal with it), but.. I dunno. I just hope they find a way to cure what really stained the game for me, and that was how stale most of the characters felt. In fact, the beginning hype to this game feels sort of like XIII's hype. It's a gorgeous game, showing off the fast battle style, teasing out some of the more interesting tidbits (having monsters in the party, awesome fun).. but I'm still going to wait and hold judgment.
By the way, this wasn't trolling. This was simply me countering the 'SO EXCITED TAKE MY MONEY' sort of posts with "No thx I'll hold my money for now" response. :D
I'm mostly sold because, all criticisms aside, I already enjoyed XIII in all its three-quarters-of-the-game-is-a-straight-line-tutorial glory. This appears to do nothing but improve upon it and fix a lot of the big complaints people had about XIII (I personally didn't think the characters were any more transparent than any other JRPG's cast). I just have yet to see any aspect actually worse than the original other than Serah being a main character (I never cared for her and I don't understand why anyone did).
This is why FF fanboys are the cancer.I already enjoyed XIII in all its three-quarters-of-the-game-is-a-straight-line-tutorial glory.
I don't even play indie games, you on crack?
Because you're a fanboy. The worst fanboy on this forum. Perhaps the worst in this world.Originally Posted by miokomioko

You have no idea what you're talking about, because that's not what was said. Mioko just has a bad history of being a ff fanboy. A very lame one.
Its still SE so I'm a little guarded about the stuff they show about every future title they release from here on out after the XIV debacle. I think this game is on the right track based on what they've showed so far but we'll see as time goes on.
So far so good to me but with this being SE that could change to an epic fail at a split second notice.
Everyone who's seen your posts in the FFXIV section knows full well what you're capable of, so no need to pretend otherwise.
