I'm positive they won't. It's just probably my least favorite rendition of a Moogle so far... contending with http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__...ogleRender.png.

Have you read the thread? Lightning was fighting Chaos Bahamut using Odin, and Feral Link is Serah's version of Eidolons because she never hit rock bottom enough for Etros to send her an Eidolon.
As far as I know there has been no confirmation that there's going to be zero summons in Final Fantasy XIII-2. I honestly think you need to take a step back and catch up on some of the information that has been released and posted here before you start nitpicking a game you haven't even touched.
Lastly, same developers afaik.
The whole lightning appears more to be a side story arc rather than a party member that actually joins, but like I said this speculation could indeed be wrong. (Because after all we are all just speculating). The Feral link comment was to support the fact that it appears that seems to be the direction the game is going, which if that is the case makes it more likely that Sera and the monster will always be a party slot. Which again potentially reduces the likelihood that there will be more than the main rosters as party members, because by that logic there is only one rotatable member. Not to mention the amount of detail that is in Feral Link suggests that this will be the new Eidolon system completely, especially since party members cannot learn or cast certain spells. Although like I said again earlier that if this proves to be wrong then this gripe is negated. I'm just normally decent at picking up at patterns, and like I said I am not liking the patterns I am seeing. Hopefully most of my patterns I've picked up on are indeed wrong as I believe it will be a better game for the majority of the fan base if they aren't correct. Although it appears that some of the fans may disagree and that is certainly your opinion just as this is my opinion, but again this game is only going to sell to a certain percent of those that played Final Fantasy XIII. Lastly, I realize that lack of character diversity was one of the main gripes with the original since everyone could be everyone I just didn't expect to have it addressed in the form of monsters and I don't think it will translate well just simply on how humans tend to try and "relate" to the characters and personify(is this the right word? I'm not sure) them. (since you can interchange them so frequently that they most likely won't have any dialogue or relevance to the story on an individual basis)
Also to those that liked the anomaly thing great, it just wasn't what I expected and those type of gimmicky puzzles just add artificial time to the game. I prefer puzzles that are more dynamic and are in more variety rather than the same one repeated.
Also yes I don't like rap in Final Fantasy, nor do I think it is Final Fantasyish I'm glad someone picked up on that. I just didn't want to claim that and turn this into a debate about music genres(Or as Slim Shady would say music genders).
edit: wall o text incoming :O but this is most likely my last post cause I don't want to turn this entire thread into a debate. Just wanted to post my speculation and see other people's thoughts on it regarding disagreeing and agreeing.
The rap music in that battle just ruined it for me personally. They'd better not include too much...
I dont see how your getting to the monsters being the new summons theory when the devs stated that Serah could control monsters in place of a summon because ahe did not have one, implying other characters would. (Unless you think they are going the route where there are no summons and only one person (Serah) has this new ability of feral link to replace the ability to summon across the board, which doesnt make sense.) This is all just speculation on both sides but because the monster system seems to be implemented well and fleshed out it automatically means summons or party members are scraped? I feel it is a lose/lose at this point with some ppl, if the info so far had made the monster system seem tacted on you would be condemning it for being a gimmicky useless addition.

That would be pretty cool, actually... too bad it won't be.
I was real iffy on the idea of XIII-2 until I saw the E3 promo video for it. I'm pretty much sold on it:
- They're keeping but tweaking most of the battle system (ratings are going to do more, woo)
- Serah's character being a major player is redeemed by a transforming Moogle as a weapon.
- Interactive cinematics should add a bit more "real" sense to the lengthy cutscenes and battles of the game.
- Controlling monsters (and different ones for different paradigms) is fucking awesome for making up for only having two members at times.
And it seems they're trying to keep things consistent, but we'll see how it all works out in the end with:
- There now being cities. It didn't make sense for the team to be running around cities in XIII because of fugitive status (and I don't know why this doesn't seem to be a mark against old FF games)
- No (?) Eidolons. Well, it makes sense. Eidolons came from being a L'Cie, and presumably those don't exist in this. They could explain it either way though.
All I can say is they better have Lightning as the main focus of the game as originally announced, she's the best "main" character FF has had since...Zidane. And the 2nd best since...earlier FF's I never beat.
Pulse L'Cie could still exist, and Lightning still has the power to summon Odin. We still don't know why they are able to use magic, back in FFXIII only L'Cie could use magic, the guardian corps and PSICOM used manadrives to cast magic. There's a lot that hasn't been explained yet, so don't rule anything out just quite yet.
i think they could easily introduce something to fill in that loophole..
also i think its a different system of magic from l'cie magic.. cos if you see the visual effects of casting magic, theres this greyish-black rune circle thing when they cast ruin, and this was never around in XIII...
Flabanaro doing hundred fists is just badass, can't wait to see some of the other feral links.

I just want a Flanitor as a recruitable monster.
Those things were amazing.
I doubt it, but did they talk about a kind of import of saves? And what it will do?
I remember them saying that they suggest we keep our FFXIII saves (Wondering we to finish XIII or not lol) I know the story but just for the save game
Man, that was like some of the first info they even mentioned about XIII-2. I hope it's still accurate.
Yup, those flans with sirens on their heads.

What we know already except
http://www.siliconera.com/2011/06/13...antasy-xiii-2/For the most part, Serah will team up with Mog and Noel as they find Lightning. Don’t worry, the game will be narrated by Lightning!
Here’s Why Serah Is The Main Character In Final Fantasy XIII-2
Final Fantasy XIII-2 changes protagonists and puts Serah, Lightning’s sister, as the leading lady. Why? That’s one of the questions Siliconera asked Motomu Toriyama, Director of Final Fantasy XIII-2.
Before we get to the answer there is a key spoiler from Final Fantasy XIII below. Just a heads up if you care about that kind of thing.
"Serah is Lightning’s young sister who turned into a crystal in an early point in Final Fantasy XIII and Lighting goes on a journey to rescue her," Toriyama summarized. "In XIII-2, it’s the other way around; the two characters switched places. Lightning still plays an important role in the story, but the main character you play as is Serah who is looking for Lightning."
We saw a scene with Lightning riding Odin and fighting Chaos Bahamut at E3. Even though she is in a different world, Lightning retained her strength from Final Fantasy XIII. While Toriyama wouldn’t give specifics he said, "Almost all of the main characters from Final Fantasy XIII will make an appearance in some way or another."
We’ll have more from the Final Fantasy XIII-2 development team later this week.
Boo to that. I wouldn't be against Serah being a character, but the main character? Boo. Lightning could pull off the whole "search for sister" thing because she was a soldier and a badass. Serah has not been shown to have any fighting capability and seems to only be iffy here. They better have us find Lightning and team up with her for the final 1/3 of the game or something and allow Lightning to be a badass for us there.
