For the most part, Serah will team up with Mog and Noel as they find Lightning. Don’t worry, the game will be narrated by Lightning!

Which basically means that Lightning will be the narrative voice, as seen in the beginning of the demo.

Well, I hope they are actually talking about more than the main cast... and just making sure people understand that pivotal NPCs from XIII won't all be around. It would be pretty lame if they didn't have appearances/revists by all previously playable characters. That's a major part of the appeal of a direct sequel Final Fantasy, especially if they aren't playable. Everyone had their favorite character(s).

Eh different opinions. I just couldn't stand her. Although I didn't mind Hope while everyone else I know hated him.

I would have to admit, I would be probably be a happier person if Hope didn't make an appearance... unless he somehow aged into some sort of normal guy instead of a Snow-wannabe.

Boo to that. I wouldn't be against Serah being a character, but the main character? Boo. Lightning could pull off the whole "search for sister" thing because she was a soldier and a badass. Serah has not been shown to have any fighting capability and seems to only be iffy here. They better have us find Lightning and team up with her for the final 1/3 of the game or something and allow Lightning to be a badass for us there.

Tidus didn't know shit about fighting when X began; hell, when you scanned him it even mentioned his combat inexperience. So many of the main characters in modern FF titles start off as clumsy, bumbling amateurs that Serah not knowing how to fight means little to me. Its a rpg; she'll learn. I mean shit, look at Hope; he flailed around helplessly for a lot of the game, then suddenly he gets Tier III spells and starts screaming "DEAL WITH THIS~!!" and taunting the shit out of enemies.

@Elcura: I think it has everything to do with her voice. Her character was fine, and I actually liked the whole part leading up to Sahz blowing up on her, when she was running around with an obviously massive knot in her stomach, stressing out over what was to come. Her VA just needed to get the vibrator out of her real pussy while she was in the studio recording those battle grunts. If I was a mob and I heard her panting like that in battle, it wouldn't have been game over for her simply from running out of HP.

I am hoping that sentence is only implying that their role will be different from a playable party-involved character. For example: Sazh being your personal airship pilot or having more regular interaction with NORA via headquarters/shops/etc.

I'm still thinking they might go the X-2 route with returning characters, unless enough people complain/ed about it now to show what they actually want.
I really don't remember much of 13 since I stopped playing it, how bad is that?

After reading the game informers hands on article I really like how the mog clock works and pretty much everything else they talked about. As mentioned before if they do stuff with the previous cast like Sazh as your pilot and allow other members to accompany you at cerain points (They still need to have more characters as a choice for your regular party over the course of the game both new/old.) and allow you to play as Lightning off and on before you find her then a good portion of the game after that I will be happy.

Only thing that makes that seem iffy is them saying Lightning retains her badassery from XIII which means they may will wait until your other characters have reached that point before teaming up with her. The fact that Lightning is off trying to save Fang/Vanille hopefully sees you freeing them early enough to get some play time with them instead of it being part of the end game.

Yeah, I see your point. But they first announced it with all about Lightning, and I really liked her character and would love to just see her fighting anew. She wasn't a perfect main char, but she was solid, much better than most other ones. And I'm kinda sick of the "random kid picks up a sword and becomes a world saving hero" storylines. Though thinking back there are actually quite a few character that all have some solid experience behind them:

Cloud - Was in the army
Squall - Training to be in the military
Tidus - Circus thief
Rhamza - Military Cadet

I suppose if they explain that Serah was taught a few things by Lightning, it'll be ok. I mostly just want more Lightning than I think they're going to give me. I think I just wanted to get Lightning to go "You're such a dick." to Titan and killed him. Though I should probably finish the last few Cie'th missions to see exactly what goes down with this.

Tidus as a circus thief? Hahaha... I mean, he was an ace baller, so his body was in shape, but it doesn't seem that you need physical strength in FFs where "magic" comes into play. Touch a crystal, get power, then grind mobs until you can destroy planets.

For some reason I keep getting Tidus' name in when I mean Zidane. Which really gets annoying since I love Zidane and hate Tidus.
