Biggest missable I can remember is the Cursed Ring in VII that even the strategy guide didn't have listed. Had to grab it randomly off the wooden planks in that one mako village that gets blown up right before Cloud falls into the lifestream.

Optimistically you will play as serah/noel/random/ppl looking to find out what happened to lightning while exploring pulse and the ravaged cocoon. Hppefully during this there will be instances where the focus switches to lightning and you will get to play as her full badass during actual story segments exploring the "dark place" she is in with some of them being the scripted fights like we saw with bahamut until you reach a certain point in the game where they are reunited and you continue from there. I would think exploring where lightning is would be an intrical part of the story as well as expecting the enemies there to be way more difficult then in other segments. This is the vibe im getting and fits the mold of what they've been showing and saying.

Yeah, if we get very limited or no Lightning playing time it'll be the biggest mistake of FFXIII-2 by far. Especially since the original scoop was "Lightning is so good we're making another game around her!" But it is sounding like Archdizzle is posting, if that's the case, I can handle it, especially for version 2.0 of that battle system.
hmmm X-2 had a ton of missable dresspheres iirc.. depending on which route you choose.. and like um.. catnip was a fork item early in the game, i think.
XIII has a ton of missables actually, but almost none in terms of items, cos they can either drop or you can synth your way to them...
the real missables in XIII are the enemy data entries, since you cannot revisit old areas.. what makes them even more missable is that some areas only have like 1 of a unique mob, or they're summoned so you may never see them if you play normally/well...
Lightning is my favorite character of all time because of FF13, so to be perfectly honest I probably won't bother with the sequel if she's going to be locked up for 95% of the fights. The cutscenes they first leaked where she was in armor and everything had me creaming my pants every time I watched them. I'm ok with Serah I guess but she seems like such a pussy compared to Lightning, I'm sure she'll find some inner strength and become all mediocre as a lead but let's be honest, Lightning was about the only saving grace (imo) that made FF13 even bearable to play with the sound on.
Um no actually the music alone was a pretty big reason to keep the audio on.
Hope was the only reason not to have the sound on for me. I could understand where he was coming from, but fuck I don't want to deal with listening to whiny teenagers and how hard their life is (even when it's completely justified). I actually didn't mind Vanille, especially after she was explained, it made sense.
Rising Sun. But she actually has two more but no connected slots and weak weapons from the early part of the game in general.
Can't you get most FFVII missables from the minigame in the Bone Village if you miss them?
Yeah thats the one.
I'm not sure about that Nevex.
Also not sure if this was posted... Semi lengthy post on Andriansang from Dengeki Playstaytion: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/201...i_2_interview/
The more I read about this game the more I feel like Lightning is going to be taking a backseat and just show up as a guest here and there.
Potentially new and very interesting piece of information if it's accurate: http://www.the-magicbox.com/1106/game110614a.shtml
Player can control up to 3 characters in battle, including the monster, but sometimes there will be additional guest characters in the battlecontrol
Uhh, I think it's just the wrong wording on the author's part. I think all they wanted to say is that the party consist of 3 characters.
I think its bad wording or wrong translation on the authors part. Theres no indication in any of those videos that you have full control of any other character besides your on screen character.
Would be nice if you can press a button mid combat and on the fly swap to one of the other characters. This would still tie in with the whole MC dies = gameover thing.
