They can also use a lot of the same models etc from XIII, kinda like they did with X-2.

X-2 recycled a lot of content, especially in the area department. The way XIII was designed wouldn't lend too well to re-purposing of content (other than player models, which'll get a make-over anyways) given its tunnel-vision nature.
Oh well, can always wait and see. Watch it come out before Versus just to piss the playerbase off.
X-2 had a completely different (and much better imo) battle system though, so it still worked out.
They can further improve FFXIII's by adding things like character movement and allow you to switch party leader during battles.
Can recycle, off the top of my head, Enemy models, NPC models, if they want to be lazy player models if nothing big happens to them. Can probably recycle parts of Pulse too. Can't really recycle cocoon, kinda out of order now.
Looks like FF Type-0 (formerly known as XIII Agito) will ship on two UMDs, yikes.
And Versus XIII reconfirmed for PS3 exclusive.
lol..... didn't see this coming.
Wada about a year ago:
http://www.next-gen.biz/features/an-...-wada?page=0,0But whether we are going to continue to internally create this type of game remains to be seen, because I actually feel that the team that was involved with Final Fantasy XIII should next move on to create and generate some ‘next generation’ forms of play. Internally and externally I feel there’s an expectation of Square Enix to offer something new, and I really think that the Final Fantasy team could create something completely different
Wada speaking out of his ass again?
Externally there are expectations to take ff franchise back to shittiness. I hope XIII-2 isn't the manifestation of those expectations.
From playstation blog.
We at Square Enix are delighted to let you know that the sequel to FINAL FANTASY XIII, FINAL FANTASY XIII-2, is coming next winter. We have a new story in store that stems from the previous title, a battle system that is evolved from “XIII” – and more…

Just because you played the game in easy automatic mode it doesn't mean the battle system was bad. In fact it's the best in the series so far.
Will they import a song for the English Version again? kekekekeke *^^*
I felt the battle system was more strategic than past systems...
I hate FF games... so very much.
I no rite, same as all FFs, what is it with making us press the X button to attack all the time huh? Crazy shit. Get circle involved guys, geez.
And yet, here we are on a forum dedicated almost exclusively to Square enix, on a board set up and almost solely used to discuss Final Fantasy XI.I hate FF games... so very much.
EDIT: On the topic of FFXIII-2, I quite enjoyed the first one for all its shitty anime-esque stylings, but considering the armor-feathery thing they've slapped lightning in for this one, I'm not going to be surprised when it turns into another FFX-2. That said, if they can keep it fun to play and less linear (even though this is pretty much a given considering how many people bitched about it, I didn't particularly mind it considering I didn't play for 12 hours straight, I can imagine pressing forwards for an extended amount of time caused many beads of sweat on your average basement-dweller when that game came out.) then I'll be likely to pick it up.
Exactly, which is why my "linear" was in quotes. You can't tell me FFX wasn't linear. Sure, it had cities, but the the fact that there's cities doesn't somehow remove its linearity (is that even a word?).
Every FF game has been linear. Just because it has a world map doesn't mean it isn't linear. Sure, you can "explore" by flying around in a little airship to escape the fighting, but it's still linear, and the teleport function in FFXIII and FFX achieves the exact same thing. Fact of the matter is, you still want to get from X to Y in order to do something.
Do tell me how FFVII is less linear than FFXIII. The areas was larger? Most all of them is a straight narrow line, just like FFVIII and FFVIX. There's 2 - sometimes 3 - exits, leading to another area with 2 to 3 exits at the end of a narrow corridor. Until you reach the objective.
What is it that made earlier FF games less linear?
Holy fucking shit do you people need to bitch about the game in every single thread that mentions it, this is about the sequel, there's plenty of threads to complain in
