Most likely Historia Crux is the english name... and Cross is the JP one..
its always the case for a lot of game terms.. they change it to make it sound nicer in english.
Result Plate -> Garment Grid
Mist Knack -> Quickening
etc etc

It wouldn't be a JP game if it didn't have silly terms!
http://www.ff-xiii.net/It seems that Square-Enix has registered another domain name for Final Fantasy.
According to Whois.domaintools.com, apparently Corporation Service Company has registered finalfantasyxiii-3.com.
In case you are wondering. The same company also registered heroesofruin.com and deusex.com.
So is what does this all mean? Well it could mean that a sequel is in the works. However, keep in mind that Square-Enix likes to register names in advance, such as Final Fantasy Type 1-10.
Only time will tell I guess!
XIII-3? Probably doesn't mean much, but interesting none the less![]()
I certainly wouldn't mind a trilogy, nor them making more use of the white engine. At least it wouldn't take them so long to put out dem gaemz.
Of course everyone is bashing them for doing this. How predictable.
If they could work on XV in the meantime that'd be good.
I wouldn't be against it either if XIII-2 turns out to be as good as it seems it be shaping up. I wouldn't really be against them making new FNC games and things making use of their engine as you've said, and saving FFXV for a release title for the next gen and making sure it's perfect.
A bit more info here:
Chocobos in the party?! Amazeballs. Looks like we might get 4-person groups sometimes.Earlier today Square-Enix held a special fan meeting where a few lucky fans received invitations to attend. Normal and Easy modes have been added as well as a new battle result screen. Development staff shared that XIII-2 has been in development for 1 year and 1/2. Decisions to make a sequel came shortly after XIII was released.
Information on a release date should hopefully be shared at TGS along with the announcement of a possible limited edition. We will be seeing plenty of Lightning in the game and yes, Snow will be making an appearance. He has yet to marry Serah. Lindzei, Pulse, and the Goddess Etro will be the axis of the story.
Noel and Vanille might have some kind of connection as well.
Hopefully nobody has deleted their original FFXIII save files because some data could potentially be useful and carried over. Chocobo's will be used in your party. The monster catching aspect of the game was fully shown. Toriyama previously stated that the party will consist of Serah, Noel, a catch-able monster and sometime a guest character.
The event ended with Toriyama and Kitase signing poster autographs as a thank you for coming to the meeting.
I'm suspecting more and more this bad guy might be working for Lindzei or something... Glad Pulse and Lindzei haven't been left out of the story though, I was hoping they'd be fully explained with their intentions this time around
Cait Sith apparently is recruitable in the TGS demo. HLR/MED role.
Was the "blood damage" system already mentioned? Monsters can deal normal damage or blood damage which lowers your maximum hp for the duration of the battle. This is in place to make medic less effective as the fight drags on, or something like that.
The Blood Damage system is actually a good idea considering that TP are gone and this game has no MP.
The temporary max HP drop is a good idea to balance things out and have players choose between offensive and defensive playing styles, at least on their first playthrough.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Release Date Announcement Coming at Tokyo Game Show
Final Fantasy XIII-2 director Motomu Toriyama has provided a big hint about when we can expect to hear the game's final release date. During the Q&A session of a fan event held in Tokyo over the weekend, Toriyama was asked by attendees for a more specific date than the currently announced December timeframe. He responded "It will be announced at Tokyo XXXXXX."
The number of Xs in his response -- at least as Famitsu.com transcribed it in its report from the event -- matches the Japanese word for "Game Show" (which is just "Game Show"), so it looks like we'll get the date next week!
Tokyo Game Show may also be the revealing grounds for the identity of the mysterious man who was shown in a confrontation in Valhalla with Lightning during the game's first trailer earlier this year. Square Enix's PR department said to expect this info from next week's big event as well.
Other points mentioned in the Q&A session:
Asked if they're looking into releasing download content, producer Yoshinori Kitase asked a PR person "Is it okay if I say?" but was denied permission, so he instead said that they're actively looking into it.
Asked if we'll get a limited edition, Kitase said they're "really actively looking into it."
If you have your XIII save data, you'll get some bonuses in XIII-2.
As previously announced, XIII-2 has a monster raising component. Your characters are built up using a new growth system like the Crystarium system from the original. Your monsters have their own growth system which is similar to this.
You'll find over 150 monster types in the game. They all have unique inputs for performing their special skills, so those who aren't too good with action games can select a monster with simple controls.
In XIII, you could only ride Chocobos in the Gran Pulse world. In XIII-2, you can ride them anywhere. However, you won't have access to Chocobos at the start of the game. You'll gain access at a point where it starts to be difficult to move around with ease.
The game will have a red Chocobo. Toriyama says that this will be a unique Chocobo amongst the series' Chocobos.
That Moogle Serah uses as a weapon and as a means of grabbing items items is from Lightning's world. He's come to help Serah.
The "Fragments" shown in last week'S screenshots of the game's time travel interface are part of a quest system. You get them from NPCs and can attempt to clear the related quest. You'll start to encounter these fragments right from the game's first chapter.
Asked about the game's length, Toriyama explained that just looking at the story volume, it's a bit shorter than XIII. However, there are all sorts of additional play elements this time, including the time travel, the fragments, and lots of mini games.
It was already announced that most of the characters from XIII will appear in XIII-2. We'll get an introduction to some of those characters at TGS. Some of the characters will be playable (not necessarily at TGS, but playable in the game).
Serah and Snow are not yet married, and Snow apparently has a good reason for this. In the final version of the game, we'll get the full word on the current status of their relationship.
Development on XIII-2 is currently at 90%. The game has been in development for a little over one and a half years, according to Kitase.
hope that XIII-3 domain is just ass covering
Last time we already had huge hints before the domain was registered (Lightning Christmas postcards and new novels taking place after the ending of XIII). There's no hints at all this time and XIII-2 isn't even out yet. Not to mention that SE has registered domains for FF games up to 20 already as well as Type 1, 2 and 3.
XIII-2 is looking better and better so I don't understand the complaints at all.
Direct sequels are not allowed.
Agreed. Sequels ftw - More content, fills some holes, more time with old characters, etc. It also helps with those who felt "the game felt too short" or "It feels like I hardly knew the characters at all" *cough TLR cough*. Of course as long as it doesn't do anything dramatically bad or change any of the characters for the worse.
But yeah I think doing more sequels is a good idea and a good experiment. Honestly I've always felt attached to characters in games (well as long as they're not raging psychopaths killing everyone... wait a minute...) and I wouldn't mind seeing more of them.
Plus Power Rangers did it so why not?
can i has a FFVII-2 then? ; ; hell i don't want a squeal just a rerendered HD port never going to happen but would have been nice for there 20th anniversary (2016 i think)
Give me a FFVI sequel/remake >.>
