If they do it like The Last Remnant, all preorder bonus will be made available for $1 or something later as DLC (TLR had preorder bonus but later sold it for 100 MS points as DLC on the 360 version).

Since this is a "Final Fantasy" game and SE can't afford to screw around with their fans, I'm sure the same thing will happen. So preorder bonus may save you $1 later or something but I can't imagine SE making it exclusive to preorder only (just an extra bonus which will be available later on anyway).

• Omega Boss Battle: a coliseum boss battle. Defeat him and he will join your party.
• Noel Costume: a new outfit for Noel.
• Serah Costume: a new outfit for Serah.

Oh Squeenix... guess I'll wait for the inevitable price drop on the game, hopefully it won't total up to more than the default price when I pay for all the content that should have been included in the first place!

Edit: Amazon is supposedly giving the Omega DLC as a pre-order bonus, so at least that's something.

Not to nitpick but DLC isn't something that is "supposed to be in the game in the first place", because it might as well not exist at all.
DLC is just a way to make extra cash and I agree that's annoying, but nobody is forcing you to buy it.
If anything you should be thankful that this is just a bunch of useless costumes and some novelty battle mechanic that will most likely suck like Aerith Assist in Dissidia 012. If Omega turns out to be good I'll eat my words back but I doubt that will be the case.

I read somewhere that they said that there was going to be old fashioned world travel in this game. Is that true? If so I'll have to pick up a copy of XIII and play it D;

@Dantrag - Sadly no. FF Versus 13 (whenever that comes out) and FF Type Zero (JP only for now) both have been announced to have world maps with vehicles however.

Though still check out FF13-2 once it releases to see what goodies are in the game. They're adding a lot of stuff (maybe they'll have epic mini games like Blitz Ball or something. Right now a lot of things haven't been revealed yet besides Serah and Noel being the "only" two characters in the game[unless they're trying to pull Reverse Psychology Marketing but sadly I don't think that's the case.)

I'm leaning towards the Best Buy preorder (I don't mind paying extra for the other two for DLC) but then again if said book doesn't have art and is just text I might just go for the Amazon preorder bonus instead (since I already read the fan translated version of it here.)

Just 1 optional boss as DLC? Meh give me Monster Arena from FFX (level grind, fight fun high level monsters, all in one place) and Vanille as a playable character with Hecatoncheir (with Curaga) and I'll give you all the money you want SE >.>.

You know I don't mind DLC when said DLC is what fans really want and is something epic (I mean in terms of game content DLC. Costumes and other stuff like that I don't mind at all). Seriously someone needs to tell SE what fans want (and we want Monster Arena right?)

I don't know anyone who disliked Monster Arena (maybe the capture enemy element but once that's done you have nothing but fun), they should make it a standard for all future FFs (in terms of end game)

Monster Arena featured a variety of high level super bosses (all harder than the final bosses) that you could fight over and over for level grinding or just for fun (imagine fighting super high level fun bosses instead of farming turtles over and over. You know you want that right?)

(Does SE have a twitter or something that they actually read for SE? I do know it's almost impossible to get them to read it with a billion other tweets coming in but it's worth a try >.>)

Also SE isn't that greedy (well at least from what they shown in the past with DLC). All the DLC from The Last Remnant was free (including the optional dungeon) except the preorder bonus (which cost only $1.)

Though it being free may have had to do with the horrible reception the 360 version received. Anyway we'll wait and see how much it costs and what content (besides those 3) awaits for FF13-2.

Certain stores in JP get it for free as pre-order bonus too. I was thinking of buying through Play Asia, but they get like.. no pre order bonuses >_> and ordering from JP stores is a bit annoying and difficult when you don't live there.

Yeah I'm ready to farm turtles with that music (well while on the field anyway).

Of course this is assuming Archylte Steppe + Gran Pulse hasn't suddenly turned into some futuristic city with malls or something already where that music might kind of fit better with.

Being a Persona fan I'm not against this style of music. But I can see a lot of people complaining about it not being "FF-feeling" enough.

At least these songs are great to listen to as stand-alones, a lot of game songs need an in-game association to sometimes be appreciated.
