It's a waste of time to bother with the weed charge. There is more important things going on than citing somebody for a minor possesion charge. Tax dollars hard at work keeping everyone safe from a weed smoker.

I know illegal is illegal, just shows where that cops priorities lie. I live in Pittsburgh, from a rather bad neighborhood where a few family members work as police. When they get a traffic stop with weed they have the driver do the soulja boy on that shit, end of the story. I guess the better areas have less crime to worry about and the police have to make there money somehow.

Here in ma, if I stopped someone with weed. Its a $25 citation, and possibly a court hearing. No arrest or anything

You're a cop? Yeah but why waste your time at a court hearing when you could be spending it to stop real criminals? I'm no weed smoker I just don't see any harm in it and think it's a waste of time doing paperwork and going to court over somebody's smoke stash.

In all fairness, the suspension wasn't even my fault, nor did I know/notified about it. Just a normal day driving around. And ya the front plate thing, never needed them in cali, just never gave it a second thought once I moved back to ohio. But I get the gist of what you mean.

The court hearing doesn't happen every time a guy gets caught with weed. It's not like arson/rape/murder are so common that such 'real criminals' are parading around the car of a pothead with no front plates and his stash in the passenger seat when he's pulled over.

Actually if the state issues 2 plates (yes that's california) you are required to have both. You just got lucky before. Motorcycles are the only ones in california that don't require a front plate.

As long as you don't drive around with weed in your car and there's no possibility of administrative fuckup in your registration or insurance...

My dad drives a big Dodge Ram and refuses to put his front plate on. Everytime he gets pulled over he asks the officer how many Corvettes he's issued tickets to today. Probably helps he hasn't had a ticket in 20 somethin years. I tried that once at 19 and got a ticket.

Also I can confirm cali requires front plates, I got ticketed for it once (never did fix it, just paid the fine and stopped driving so damn fast which was what got me pulled over in the first place)

eh, simply due to the lack of roadside weed testing, it's probably a lot smarter than driving with a .09 BAC.
