Anyone else having a problem playing this movie on their ps3? I have the latest system update but it still doesn't want to recognize the disc.

You guys really liked this movie? maybe I'm too hard on it but it was just ok
Yeah, I wasn't really super impressed by it, either. Decent popcorn flick, but that's about it.
I think what impressed us all was that it wasn't fucking horrible.
It was linear (which might have been a good thing), Thrilby was wooden (so was Urban, but Dredd is a fucking stoic, he's supposed to be played stiffly which means Urban did well), but it lacked the ridiculousness of the Stallone flick. It was surprisingly solid, with vivid, raw visuals, and had potential for more robust story if it got a sequel.
I'll watch it again somewhere down the road. I only disliked that I had to see it in 3D.
Good action film.
I wouldn't call Dredd anything spectacular, but simply based on the fact of how badly it bombed in theaters, I can only hope DVD sales do enough to encourage some continuation of the Dredd franchise. So, doing my part for that.
The thing that made the film for me was Lena Headey being amazing as always.
BITCH NEEDS MORE ROLES.
It was a decent film, enjoyable for sure. I can't spare $20 for it however, wish I could.
I do want to see a sequel which I've heard was already planned but scrapped because the movie still has yet to break even.
VERY FUN MOVIE AND OLIVIA THIRLBY IS SEX
I took the disc back to Best Buy and had them test it on their bluray player. It said the disc was incompatible. So they exchanged it for me with the last one they had, took it out and tested that one out there too, and it still came up saying the disc was incompatible. They just ended up giving me a refund.
Plays fine on my ps3, the 3d version plays fine also. But I have the ancient superior 60 gig model though lol
Either the discs are bad or someone's player(s) need firmware updates. Rare, but it happens. Could try looking at the manufacturer's site to see if they have a download you could burn to disc, or in some cases they'll send one. Though, I suppose some players can connect to the net directly for extra features these days.

Karl Urban is back in "conversations are happening" mode when discussing a follow-up to his cult-favorite comics adaptation Dredd.
The Star Trek franchise star, appearing at the Calgary Expo this weekend, was asked about his recent tweet, in which he pushed streaming services like Amazon and Netflix to consider a miniseries follow-up to the 3D film, which was beloved by audiences but lost money in theaters.
"Conversations are happening" about such a series, Urban said, according to people in the audience.
That's certainly exciting, but don't get too enthusiastic just yet: Urban has used the "conversations are happening" intermittently since at least 2014 when quizzed about the possibility of a second Dredd movie.
Producers have been somewhat more reserved, saying that while they'd like to make one, there were a lot of people who lost money on the first installment, and who would therefore have to be made whole before any follow-up could realistically be greenlit.
A pair of sequels set in the world of the film have already taken place in the pages of the comics.![]()
Wait...does this actually happen? If a movie loses money the people involved get owed funds from the success of any future attempts at the same ip?there were a lot of people who lost money on the first installment, and who would therefore have to be made whole before any follow-up could realistically be greenlit.
Not usually
Although if they are pulling the same investors, they'll likely do different rounds of funding with different payout levels, which can also put off potential new money because they aren't first out.
