Ok lets say the the AvP universe is not a spinoff, and in fact connected to the prometheus-alien-aliens universe, wouldn't the Engineers have tried to kill the Predators first?! You know, since they can use energy-based weapons and fly through space with no problem to go on hunting safaris, and turn invisible. Why bother to connect the AvP universe? It's a type of spinoff!

Prometheus is prior to alien. In alien they found a Space Jockey ship with a distress beacon and inside were lots of Facehugger eggs. Thats how those came about. That's the origin I remember. The Xenomorph was formed from a specific evolution that I assume hasn't been shown.
So I'm guessing that Psudo-Xenomorph is maybe what laid the Facehugger eggs. OR they could originate from whatever popped out of the dead Engineer's body in Alien?

Hopefully all of that can be answered in another movie!

Actually in my little wiki binge it's insinuated that they do try to kill the Predators. Predators just happen to be very good at not dying or something. I mean look at those guys. They make giant nests of aliens to slaughter simply for proving one isn't a teenager anymore. They're exactly the type of species that would actually survive a "standard" xenomorph attack

After reading that reddit post which explained a buttload of it, I like it. Even before reading it, I thought it was a pretty neat space-ish movie. Even though a lot of it felt... wut. Too much of the action/tense parts felt way forced. overall it was an okay movie to me.
