Blu-ray. I don't think the DVD is getting anything special. It almost seems like the days of DVD extras have passed and are instead doing just trailers like back before extras was a thing.

You may or may not have already seen these, but here's a series of photos showing off some awesomely creepy unused special effects for Ridley Scott's Prometheus. These screenshots come from Cinefex, and they show us the character Fifield played by Sean Harris, in a horrific mutated state. For those of you not sure who Fifield was, he was the geologist with the mohawk. Here's the explination behind the designs,

To mutate Fifield beyond what was possible using practical makeup effects, Weta Digital generated a digital character with elongated limbs and an engorged, transluscent head, incorporating a semblance of Harris’ face,. Scott filmed the sequence both with the actor in makeup and without, providing clean plates that would allow for the insertion of the digital character. The final cut featured mostly makeup effects, which Weta enhanced with digital wire removal, bullet hits, and one shot of the digital creature’s body blended to the actor.

I'm sure we'll end up seeing a ton of great special features, extras, and deleted scenes on the Blu-ray, which is set to be released on October 11th.

just watched, kinda confused with the pacing of the flic. don't get me wrong was a good movie and i'm a huge sci-fi buff. lots of weird things that happened that i dont have answers for, maybe i will have to watch again to take it all in.

i assume this is the planet from Alien (1)? where they sent that mining colony with all the kids and families and shit.

Yes, the wreckage at the end (that was shown in the trailer) is the ruined ship they find in Alien.

Ridley Scott said it would take another 2 films to make the direct link to Alien.

The Engineer in Alien had the xenomorph burst through its chest while it was sitting it the pilot seat thing and it had its space suit on.

The Engineer in Prometheus died in the life pod with no space suit on. It also gave birth to a different type of xenomorph than the Queen in Alien

I personally think the ending should have been done to make it link up perfectly to Alien, especially since Ridley isn't even sure if he was going to do a sequel, but w/e

can someone draw the connection for me? i'm wondering why the engineers would have the vase's with the alien goo babies in them, that david then used to poison halloway and impregnate his honeysauce, that then becomes some giant alien squid looking mother fucker that didn't seem to resemble the traditional face sucker (but obviously was). could that big asshole just have been a giant face sucker? or perhaps one of the first or a different race of face suckers? or maybe a queen face sucker???
