What are my Network Streaming options? (wired/powerline/wireless)

Hey guys, currently I have a wireless network setup that's based on 2 54g DD-WRT flashed routers, one setup as a client bridge in order to have my 360 online, but it's not really ideal for what I want to do. I chiefly like to stream HD movies to my 360 and when gaming have had complaints about lag from friends online, the latter which I'm not sure is related to the network or my connection in general, but I thought removing the wireless component might help.

I'm not really sure how viable running ethernet would be because of the location of the rooms and not knowing what the fuck I'm doing, but there's no crawl space and the flooring itself is tile and I have no idea how to run cable in the first place. Given that I was curious if any of the other options were any better or more dependable than wireless for what I'm looking to do? N? I've heard powerline networks are getting popular, but is it anymore viable? Ideally I wouldn't have to change my routers and simply be able to connect them via wire since I have multiple devices connected to the 2nd router. Thanks for any help!

Wireless is cancer. How far are the rooms? I have multiple cables running through my appartement(main one being 330 ft easily) and I've managed to hide them well.

PLC is a good alternative, I have a pair of plugs that I don't use thanks to Ethernet but they were helpful the short time I didn't.

    tl;dr : Ethernet

The rooms really aren't far at all, they're only separated by a hallway, but I don't know enough about wiring to know how to begin going about doing this. I've seen cable run under carpet before and the room the 360 is in is carpeted, but the initial room with the router is tiled. We have a 2nd story if that helps? Any particular reading material you found helpful when wiring your apartment?

Powerline would be somewhat ideal given there are 2 outlets located in the exact spots I'm looking at, but are there any considerations to make with Powerline? We have a whole-house generator as well as a whole-house surge protector on the fusebox so I wasn't sure if that might interfere or cause instability. My routers only have 100mb switches so I think that's all I'd need, but on that note, would that be sufficient for streaming 1080p?

Sorry for the barrage of questions :3

Premade ethernet cable + surface raceways is going to be the easiest way, takes a few minutes to get it all covered. This article(http://cableorganizer.com/articles/W...ire-Cover.html) might be helpful though really, there is nothing intellectual about running wires unless you're gonna have to make your own Ethernet cord for some reasons in which case it can take a few tries to get it right with the crimp tool.

How it looks in my appartement.
    Spoiler: show

Eh, there could be a lot in the equation depending on your installation age, various stuff on the line etc, but 99% of the time it's very reliable and works out of the box.

100 mb is "theorically" enough to stream 2 1080p movie at once, but you should make the jump to Gigabit at some point, it's really good and would still use the very same cables, just change routers and tadam.

Wow, that's perfect lol. I was expecting to have to drill holes and run through the walls, but that simplifies things greatly. Looks really great, too, I'll have to price the 2 options and do some measuring to see what I'm looking at, but either way I think I'm in a good spot to eliminate the wireless for at least one room, thanks so much.

Definitely plan to move to gigabit later on once the network necessitates.

Can you access above the ceiling? If so it's not hard to drop the wire down a wall and put a jack in the wall >.>

Heating vents are perfect for running cable by the way. With a fishing pole, cable, and a free Sunday afternoon you can probably network your entire house.
