A group of more than 100 scientists and experts say in a new report that California faces the risk of a massive "superstorm" that could flood a quarter of the state's homes and cause $300 billion to $400 billion in damage. Researchers point out that the potential scale of destruction in this storm scenario is four or five times the amount of damage that could be wrought by a major earthquake.

Yeah, this also. Any county in California makes a real big deal about a mediocre storm because none of its cities are built to deal with them. Although I am sure that Sacramento is likely to be more equipped for drainage now than it was in the 1800s... no politicians are going to be taking a rowboat to a meeting. This article looks to be about 85% sensationalist crap.

Funny thing is they made a big deal out of that weeklong storm we had last month when it happens every few years or so. Oddly enough it's called the Pineapple Connection/Express (no not what you are thinking), where we end up getting a long band of clouds that stretch all the way from Hawaii.
