Looks great; god, I hope this game is good. I'm neither an SE hater or white knight, but I have been rather underwhelmed on most console releases since IX. Trying to keep expectations in check and failing though.
dat Highwind... also event in LA! I might go to this. Tix available in 5 days!
I am really trying to remain optimistic, but I just hated the demo so much that I don't know what to make of this game... I'm truly hoping that all the crap I saw in the demo that deterred me (like the godawful camera angles and lack of zooming out) is fixed, but I just don't know.
I enjoyed the Lightning trilogy, by the way, so I'm not an avid hater of SE or anything by any means... but this game, I dunno. Might actually be the first FF game I don't purchase on launch day.
God XV looks wonderful. Pls be good D:
Been wanting this game ever since its first CGI teaser and when it became 15 and I played the demo I was kinda...turned off... However the combat looks much smoother in that base battle footage and the crazy teleporting slashing shit looks fun as hell in that gyfcat. I hope the game comes with multiple difficulties that drasticly change how you experience certain encounters (gone from mashing attack, to actually handling mechanics)
That base battle just got me so hyped for this game
Must have boobgoon on pc
I'm clearly in the minority here, but that is some of the absolute stupidest combat I have ever seen in any game. The constant teleport spam and nearly endless flying while you fight is cheesy as shit just doesn't do it for me. Not even a little bit.
I think the game looks super fun, however the combat in no way reminds me of anything final fantasy at all. It's more like mgs + high speed kingdom hearts.
There's nothing to worry about, most of us will be dead by the time XVI comes out if they keep up their development pace.
No, because dodge rolls aren't deviantart-tier ways to make your character seem badass and powerful, and they don't lead to cringe inducing facebook roleplaying.
I don't give a shit what kind of roleplaying something induces when judging a game's feature.
The warping looks more fluid than dodge rolling over and over.
whining about a main character having space/time magic as his main skill in a fantasy game.
It makes perfect sense for him to warp around. it's not even tacked on, not only does he warp himself around with it, he can store weapons in another space then bring them out. He's like a male Erza, only not quite as badass. He can even manipulate them, allowing them to float and attack without him touching them directly, which could be argued as space/time magic as well, manipulating where in space they are at any given moment.
it would be deviantart tier if he was able to warp around, summon meteor on every foe he meets, and befriend behemoths to lay siege to the cities of his enemies. instead you have one main skill of his thats branched out and integrated into various combat skills, not a hodgepodge of overpowered moves like a kids superhero.
(although, meteor IS considered a space/time magic so maybe by the end of the game we could do the meteor thing.)
Holy shit turret gameplay
Of course, something can be fucking retarded and still be fun or properly justified. That doesn't mean it's not stupid.
I could make arguments about why I'm not looking forward to it from a gameplay perspective, but I don't really want to shit up the thread. I just can't really muster up any excitement for this game until it comes out, it's taken way too long to come out and my opinion is only deteriorating over time.
