The whole point of the anime and film is to drive hype/preorders for the actual game. Which may be crap.
I like the anime stuff too. It's a nice way to kinda introduce background to the characters just to give them some flavor. An impression to build off later on..
I'm not familiar with the Japanese market or how big the box office launch was, but I assumed it was a limited release given possible budget restraints. Debuting at #10 is bad?
It was only shown in 44 theaters lol. I think the fact it still made top ten is pretty impressive.
IT BOMBED.
FUCKING SE, AMIRITE GUIS?
Haven't we all just been using these Full-CGI movies to benchmark how far CGI has come every number of years?
I mean, comparing The Spirits Within, to Advent Children, to then this would show a reasonable progression of technological and graphical advancement. As far as movie for plot go, I'm not dropping everything to buy a ticket at a theater for an SE movie.
Within Square related productions sure.. Nobody else actually goes for the hyper realistic CG movie feel as far as CG movies go. Those that do are typically a blend of live action and CG (mostly scifi or fantasy movies) but faces are almost always real people. I'm guessing partly for cost or fear of the uncanny valley
Right now the full-CG animation industry seems to cater strictly to kids.
I liked spirits within D: alot. It was very similar to xenosaga 1 i felt.
In ep3 of Brotherhood we see her as well
I like that the anime revealed characters to us, not so much magazine articles. It's a lot less natural
Will this be released on PC? Or PS4 exclusive?
PS4 and X1 atm.
Pass.
A part of me died but I'll still try to hit it up every friday I guess. Put it in some work while waiting for a queue.
Thats a thing as well. =/
Has any other company tried to milk preorders this hard before?
