Odds are they have been working on Neo optimization all year which explains the November (worst case)/September (best case) scenario.

Seriously I have no idea why people assume the Neo is coming out this year. AMD's current hardware would have absolutely no way to handle the demands of actual 4k gaming with the standard heat/power draw limits consoles have.
Considering how many people were falling all over themselves to get that ultra super special new console price edition of the game? SE made bank for the VII Remake, I highly doubt they're embarrassed at all lol.
I'm pretty sure they also said the same thing about XIV ARR+'s performance since it would largely mean the IP "isn't doing well."
Honestly, XV will more than likely be mediocre compared to the hype (no where near NMS levels though) so think of it as delaying the inevitable and at least you'll have something to look forward to that day.
if I had to guess I'd say probably because it's more of a updated system rather than absolutely ground up new system so the manf. time isn't necessarily long especially if they've been working on it since the PS4 went live so the actual time span really does fit with a potential end of year 2016 release and honestly, I'd trust Sony's architects more than I would MS's even with AMD's current setup lol. Could also just be people wishing really hard. Though given how the Japanese like to do things, I'd sooner say it'd come within first 2 months of 2017 to give sony that extra boost.
It doesn't matter how long they've been working on it if the hardware can't support it.
Unless AMD is hiding some amazing tech from the rest of the world they simply can't pull out the level of performance needed with the constraints of console gaming (which generally have comparable heat/power limitations of midrange laptops).
Just wanna say as an aside to all y'all who either bought a PS4 just for this or are waiting on this to buy a PS4: the best game on the console now and ever has already been out for like a year and a half (Bloodborne). Even if you don't care about or like Souls games.
That said, SE is as SE does. Weird reasons for delays aren't surprising if you've followed FFXIV for any amount of time. One can hope that whatever bug they found was gamebreaking instead of just "oh the pixels on that grass are jaggy".
Given I can hop in a car for 10 minutes and be among people who can't get high speed net, I'm not entirely surprised by their choice. Otherwise, we're probably bias being here largely in part due to a game that required a stable internet connection to play. And even if you do have the option, shit almost seems to be getting worse/more expensive as time goes by. Can easily say I hate Uverse more than Comcast, which is a scary thought of its own.
First twelve minutes of Kingsglaive on some shitty YouTube channel were not allowed to link (I think?)
If it came down between FFXV and South Park... I think I'd choose South Park. What bizarro world is this...
I watched the video of the first 12 minutes. Personally I don't care to see anymore the VO don't seem that great and the lip syncing didn't look like it matched up perfectly toward a scene in the end.
I love the shit out of Harlock: Space Pirate so I am not overly picky. I do have expectations though since its from SE and they made such a shit about all the "big" name actors they have in it. It just didn't catch my attention in those 12 minutes :/
I thought it was alright, I think the rest will probably be pretty entertaining.
Also: pretty humongous spoilers about the first chapter of the game are out there today, lots of risky clicks. Tag that shit if you talk about it here so I don't have murder anybody.
ive watched the movie already. if the lip flaps annoy you you're gonna see a whole lot more of that happening. they're never exactly accurate, but also never totally off.. its like they just decided that the characters would all mouth "watermelon watermelon".
the action sequences also feature quite a few abrupt cuts and it might take you a while to figure out whats going on so don't worry you're not the only one.
Damn. Looks like the story leak might have been true.
